Breakfast is a shout-out, I stayed 3 nights, the breakfast was cool off choices and cooked fresh in the hotel. The hotel is not close to the main tourist spots, so I had to take public transport most of the time.

The room smelt like a chainsmoker had lived in there for 40 years. Basically picture yourself sleeping in an astray. Absolutely terrible. Do not book the smoking rooms whether you are a smoker or not.

The property was ok. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only complaint i have is that their breakfast did not have vegetarian options except the bread and omelet. With diverse tourists, they should include that to make the stay worth the price.

Family friendly

They were super friendly and accommodating!, had a translator on hand to avoid missed understandings. Bus stop and convenience stores are close by. I definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Kyoto.

British Solo Traveller

The toyoko inn in kyoto was a no thrills, great value hotel. Its great if you just want a base to explore from, nothing fancy. The bed and room was comfortable and all amenities were very useful. The location was brilliant being not from from eateries, shopping places and transport networks.
