Beautiful service by exceptional staff and a lovely hotel. The breakfast is amazing and filling. Bear in mind though that the hotel doesn’t have onsite laundry facilities or a gym and the absence of a bar / area to hang out in is a bit of a missed opportunity but there are plenty of bars and independent gyms nearby

We chose Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi based on recommendations and a previous great experience at their Tokyo location. Perfect spot in beautiful Kawaramachi district with clean, comfortable rooms and an amazing public bath. Friendly, helpful staff and walking distance to excellent shopping, restaurants, and bars. Great public transport connections too. Loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The property is pristine and the ambiance was magical. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I was so sad to have to leave this hotel.

If you are walking, look for the underground passage-way from the subway to the hotel for easier rolling of luggage. The hotel itself is very beautiful, decorated in moody, dark tones. The shared bath was very nice. You can easily walk to shopping or Gion area.
