Excellent communication, excellent staff, great location.
beautiful property. we had the traditional room with tatami floor. It was so comfy as it has floor heat on the floor. it is in a quiet residential area, you do need to walk about 5-10 mins out to the busier dining area. the share bathtub is a piece of art. a kitchen to share and you can leave your items in the share fridge. Owner and staffs are always helpful and they also arranged the luggage delivery for us. Highly recommended.
Absolutely incredible stay here. About a week before our stay we were contacted by the property and given instructions on how to get to the location as well as given instructions for the taxi driver to understand.
On the day of our check in we were contacted by whatsapp (which was amazing as we did not have cellular data) with instructions on how to find the location and check in.
Staying in an traditional machiya was a fantastic experience. The rooms were al individually air conditioned and the were big size for two people. Great location, we were able to walk to all of the places we wanted to visit
The room was beautiful with tatami floors! I loved the location and the owner was super kind and even helped drive me to Kyoto station at the end of my stay- I would definitely come back!
Hospitality was amazing, we were personally welcomed by Mr.Takase and showed us all the things we need to know to have a comfortable stay.
This is a traditional house with tatami mats so being very gentle with everything was important, rolling luggages is not allowed on the mats. We booked the traditional triple room was perfect for 2 people, to move around comfortably. There isn’t someone at the front desk 24/7 but through whats app, Hazuki Kyoto will help you. In their lobby, they have self serve water and other basic necessities you may need.
For laundry, there are a few 24hr coin laundry near the area which was convenient.
For conveniency wise, it was a 15-20m walk to Kyoto station and about a 10m walk to the train stations.
If I came back to Kyoto I would stay here again.
The owner of this hotel,Takase, will make your stay a memorable one. He is so hospitable and kept in touch throughout the trip offering local recommendations and hand drawn maps. He also personally drove us to the train station. The tatami mats with heated floors are cozy and comfortable. If you're looking for a quaint and off the beaten path experience, but also accessible to sites, you won't be disappointed.
Our family had an absolutely enjoyable time at Hazuki Kyoto. The owner is super friendly and considerate, accessible at all times through Whats app. He had provided a delicious bottle of sake and traditional snack for us to enjoy, and took us to Kyoto station on the day of check out. All around a very safe and enjoyable ryokan. We highly recommend!
If I could leave a 10 star, I totally would. This place was truly exceptional - the place held the true traditional vibe of a clean and well-kept ryokan, and the warm floor helped decompress after a long day of sightseeing. The best part of this place was the owner - he was genuinely the nicest individual we had the pleasure of coming across in Japan. He ensured that all our needs were met throughout our stay, even kindly offering and giving us a ride to Tokyo station at the end of our stay! If we ever have the opportunity to come back to Kyoto, I will not hesitate to book this place once again!
Very professional and friendly host. The building is traditional and very well-maintained, with beautiful designs in every corner. It's a real gem at the heart of Kyoto, we will definitely visit again when we come back.
Our first experience staying in a Ryokan accommodation was a pleasant one. The place is clean and the hospitality is superb.
We were offered with a free hot bath to soothed our tired legs after a day of walking in Kyoto. The owner also offered us with a free ride to Kyoto station but we are unanle to take as we need to check out early.
We stayed here for a week and it was just lovely. I cannot express how beautiful the inside of the inn was, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the visual appeal - elevated traditional Japanese style with all the current amenities one might need.
The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond multiple times for us.
The surrounding area is a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood but only a 20 minute walk to the train line.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who is considering a stay in Kyoto!
Absolute gem... if you want to "feel" Kyoto this is the perfect spot. The hotel is an old geisha house which has been beautifully restored and decorated in a traditional manner but with the mod cons of air-conditioning/heating. The "rooms" consisted of 3 different rooms, bathroom, sleeping area and a dinning room. The surrounding streets have the Japanese charm and the river is <1 minute away.
Where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll along its banks. The main shopping/restaurants are located only about 10 minutes walk away. The owner couldnt be more accomdating and friendly. Forget the international hotel and go truely local with this place.
The owner was amazing and super helpful. He personally took me to the train station and helped me find the right train and time to get on it. This was an amazing experience I will never forget. I loved my stay here.
Great services from manager, actually he is owner. 1st floor private bath also very good. If you want to stay at renovated 80 years old Japanese traditional house, this is it.
It is a very nice ryokan style hotel. The building itself is renovated from an old okiya for geishas. It is also located in a good location for quick access to public transportation or walking to sightseeing locations. There is also a nice family run restaurant next door that serves seasonal dishes. The hotel is everything I hoped it would be and we had a great stay.
Our stay at Hazuki Kyoto is our most memorable. Sleeping in a ryokan is a great experience everyone visiting this wonderful country must have. Takase, the hotel owner/manager, couldn’t be more awesome. The restaurant beside the hotel serves great Japanese food and made our experience more special. Arigato Gozaimas, Takase and to the restaurant chef and her husband! Can’t wait to go back.
