Sailor's Story at The Truman Annex in Key West

The Presidents Walk and Southard Court community is located in the Truman Annex Complex which is located 2 blocks from Duval Street and all of the Old Town Key West attractions. The properties are also located less than a half mile from one of the best beaches on the island, Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and Beach. The Presidents Walk properties are two level townhouses which have private courtyards on the first level and balconies on the second level. All properties are outfitted with washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, towels and linens, have central air conditioning, off street parking and pool access.

Overall we had a great stay at Sailor's Story in The truman Annex. She house was very clean, had everything we needed, exactly like the pictures posted, and in a great location. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful neighborhood

Great place to stay. Helpful staff. The neighborhood is so picturesque. Pool is nice. Parking is very very tight. And figuring out how to get in and out of the Annex is challenging but once you figure it out, it’s easy!

The Sailor's Story was very clean. It was close to everything that we wanted to go to on Duval St., Hemingway House. Michelle from Compass Realty was very helpful with any questions we had, Will stay there again .

Great location

We have stayed in Truman Amex many times. and enjoyed our stay. The property was well appointed with close proximity to the pool and parking. Electronics all easy to use with fast internet. The only improvement would be the inclusion of some beach chairs

We had a great time, the backyard space was lovely. Unfortunately we weren't able to access the wifi, but the pool wifi sufficed! Definitely would recommend this location.

OVERALL IT IS A GREAT HOUSE, YOU NEED TO HAVE THE ELECTRIC OUTLETS LOOKED AT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DINING ROOM, IT SPARKED WHEN A CHARGER WAS PLUGGED IN, AND THE FURNITURE COULD USE A LITTLE UPDATE. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS FABULOUS

Relaxing and beautiful

We absolutely loved our stay. Our boys have actually opted to go back to key west next year vs our other plans because they had such a wonderful time. The condo was clean, well furnished, communication with the management company was excellent, and they took care of our parking issue quickly and easily (the full size suv did not fit in the covered parking). I have already contacted the company to find us a place for next year.

Sago Palm is the Best Location on Key West

My husband and I could not have been in a better location on Key West, the Truman Annex is perfect for enjoying all of KW. Marissa with Compass Realty fully understands the meaning of customer service. The initial property we booked had a major maintenance issue at 7 PM the second night of our stay. Within 20 minutes Marissa had us moved into a new townhouse a few doors down. The Sago Palm Townhouse was clean and well furnished. The kitchen has all the equipment to cook your meals. Beach towels included. Since the photos were taken there is new bedding, a grill and patio furniture with an umbrella. Make sure you rent bikes for the duration of your stay, it makes getting around a lot easier. We biked to the Southernmost Point, St. Mary's by the Sea, and all of Key West! I would highly recommend this property.

5th time to Key West and the Truman Annex

We have been to Key West 5 times, each time staying in a condo in the Truman Annex. The location to Duval St, Fort Zachary beach, Green Parrot, and all the water sport and fishing businesses make this location perfect. New to Ft Zach area are a splash pad, jogging path, amphitheater and fishing off dock. We have never needed a car. ----- First the positives. The beds were comfortable. The towels fluffy. The washer, dryer and dish washer worked great. The kitchen had plenty of plates, pans, glasses, flatware. Large TV in living room and TVs in each bedroom. Great decks off both bedrooms and fairly private deck with table off living room. Pool is directly behind this condo. 2 blocks to Green Parrot and 3 blocks to Duval St. ----- ----- Now the not-so-positives: This particular condo had several issues. First was the lack of a grill (Nov 2018) that was stated in the listing. The location rental agency told us all rentals in the Annex had to remove the grills and we should schlep our food down to Fort Zach and charcoal there. Really! We told the rental agency that we wouldn't have rented the space without a grill. They brought us a grill! (Other rentals had grills) Second issue was cleanliness. The carpet on the stairs needs replaced. An attempt had been made to clean it as it was wet when we arrived. But it was gross. The showers heads and handles had black and orange mildew.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would probably stay again. Great home and very comfortable, with only a few issues that caused minor inconvenience. Supposed to have a grill, but apparently it had been removed and the details had not been updated on HomeAway. This affected our plans for sure and had to find another place to cook all the food we brought. Asked a couple times to have the 2nd bedroom set up as a king. Was still two single beds. Wifi password on either the printed map or sent directly to tenant would have been more convenient than having to call the off hours number. All in all, still a nice property.

We enjoyed staying at the Sailor's Story. Great location to Duval and perfect size condo. Parking spot was tight having a large truck but we made it work.
