Couples get away!

This is a great location. We walked all around to the marina and all over Duvall street. Key West is only 2 miles by 4 miles. There are great restaurants all around. One day we rented a golf cart to see more!

So disappointed in Hotels.com recommendation of this hotel- definitely not a 9.4 rating! The place needs major renovations. The outside is deteriorating. Very little water pressure in Bathroom/shower. Breakfast was sub-par.

This property is nice because it’s so close to Duval and all the other key west attractions, but tucked away in a cute little area of town. I’ve stayed here twice now and will continue to when I come back. Great for groups of friends, couples, singles, and people of all ages.

The location was perfect but the room could have been in better condition for the price. Although they would have moved our room but we had decided to just stay put. General manager was very kind and helpful I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who travels to key west.

We love the Ambrosia Key West, we’ve stayed there in the past. The rooms are pretty big and the bathrooms are also big. It also has a living room and a little kitchen area and a fridge. The free breakfast has several choices and is always good. The rooms are very clean and get cleaned every day. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

Ambrosia could be more upscale to make it a 5 star accommodation. We enjoyed the pool with mostly shade, which is fine for hot months, but a little chilly in winter months. The breakfast is a continental type. Fresh Fruit and coffee, muffins, yoplait. Coffee is average. Linens on beds were wonderful, except the mattress needed replacing as it was too soft. Our friends in another suite said their mattress was too firm and had terrible back ache. Medium Firm Mattresses might be a better fit for all guests and replacing after they are worn out. Ambrosia was on a quiet street, which was very important to us. So the other features were acceptable even though only average rating.

Fantastic location and quiet and very comfortable! Pool area is so lovely! Don’t expect breakfast to be much but a coffee juice and quick snack. There’s so many places nearby!

Not great

We booked the Ambrosia Suite which looked lovely from the photos online. We did not realize that the room is located in a very old house across the street from the main property. Not a huge problem, but somewhat inconvenient. The bigger issue was the room itself; it very obviously should have been updated several years ago. The bathroom was very tiny and all of the fixtures were rusted and/or covered with a thick accumulation of limescale. The two mini split air conditioning units were not working and instead there were two window units. Both were very loud. One was inches away from the head of the bed, rendering it essentially unusable. The designated deck space for the room next door was just outside the bedroom window; we could clearly hear coughing, conversations, and children running and yelling at all times. We could also hear everything happening in the room above us. Our deck space could have used updated furniture. It was located just steps away from the outdoor spa which looked lovely but was not operational during our stay. The area was cordoned off with yellow caution tape. The pool area across the street at the main property was well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. The rooms in this part of the property appeared to be updated. This is our 5th trip to Key West and by far the worst hotel we have stayed at. We won’t be back but if you do stay I would avoid any room that’s in the building across the street.

No need for a rental car. 1 uber to property from airport and walked everywhere from there which is great for us. Staff was awesome. Quiet and safe (locked gate to property with easy code). Continental breakfast was on time each day with plenty of food, but the only negative comment is that it could have been a better quality for the price. Equivalent to a lower quality hotel chain.
