Been staying there for several years now. No-frills but clean, comfortable hotel close to CBD. On my last trip though there was some renovation work going on and the drilling noise made the stay a bit unpleasant. They could have avoided allocating those rooms close to the renovation.

I love this hotel. It’s very clean and classy. Its current restaurant is being renovated but the restaurant next store (Cafe 8) has a beautiful skyline view of Hong Kong with a good menu variety and 2 for 1 happy hour. However, it’s not near any walkable shops or dining. Still, cab ride one way range from $4 to $6 to the downtown area and there’s a taxi every few minutes available all over the city. From the airport, take AirPort Express Train and get off at Hong Kong Central from there there’s an easy taxi service to the hotel. Train is $12 and taxi price depends on how many suitcases. Likely under $10 to the hotel. Taxi from the airport is very expensive ($50 -$70) Now I don’t know if the cab charges per person… Garden View is still a wonderful option. And you can walk to the downtown area. It’s easy because it’s down hill but I strongly suggest take a taxi ride back up. Also, the Peak Tram attraction (a must do in HK) is 10-12 minutes walk from the hotel.

Having found the male receptionist rather terse upon check-in, my mood was further clouded when I got to the room and the keycard wouldn't let me in. Tired, hungry and wet (having been caught in rain) I had to go back to reception with my bags to get a new key. A female receptionist at least had the decency to apologise and give me a key that did work! On another matter, surprised to see bottled water in the room charged at HKD12 per bottle. No complimentary water is, in my experience, unusual.

Overall everything was great, though I do think the bed was a little too firm. It felt like I was sleeping on a rock. The staff were very friendly though and even helped me when I forgot to get an outlet adapter to charge my phone. Would definitely visit here again.
