We arrived early evening and managed to get a meal in the restaurant. It was lovely and the staff were also. But when we went up to our room it was a different matter. While the room was adequate and clean the bathroom was discussing! The shower was not just moldy but rusted out. There was a soap dish attached to the wall, right above a dirty rust one that was hanging loose. No toilet roll holder, you had to twist around to get that, and you had to pump the handle to get the toilet to flush. The shower curtain couldn't slide accross, the fan didn't work, the door wouldn't slide shut but did flap open at the bottom and the water heater went from freezing cold to dangerously searing hot in a blink of an eye. And the heater in the room didn't work. When we went down to express out disappointment the lady on reception was very apologetic but couldn't help as they were fully booked and told us to talk to the manager in the morning. Morning came and we spoke to the manager who quite frankly couldn't care less, he didn't apologise he just said that he couldn't move us because they were full. When we asked for a refund he fobbed us of and said you'll have to ask WotIf. He didn't even offer us a free breakfast, which by the way was also discussing and not up to the standard of the night before. We will nevwr stay at a Bespoke Hotel again!

Excellent value for money. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a little issue with our shower in the family room and they came to sort it straight away. Also dog friendly!

We have stayed at the Craiglynne several times, for us as an outdoorsy family it is an ideal blend of value, comfort and location. Some of the rooms may be a little tired, but they are large, clean, and facilities are good - it really works for us that they are dog friendly too. The staff are lovely and always happy to help make our stays, and part of the reason we keep going back. There is a lovely woodland area literally just opposite the hotel which is great for walking, particularly having some shelter if the weather turns inclement. Looking forward to our next stay already!!

Dark , damp and mouldy

Opened the door to the room and instantly smelt damp. There was obviously a water leak in the corner of roof above the tea/coffee tray and plaster on the table and tray it was on. The shower was really mouldy and alot of rust around the shower tap. All in all pretty shabby and how they still allowed the room to be let is shocking. Returned straight to reception and informed them we would not be staying. She was unable to refund the payment i made 2 minutes earlier. Was asked when we checked in if we would be booking for dinner. Thankfully we didnt. If that is an acceptable room what is an acceptable kitchen. Got my refund the next morning after we found another hotel in grantown to stay in at half the price and room and breakfast were excellant. All in all do not believe the images you see and read other reviews as well as ours before booking as we are not alone in our experiance.

Breakfast was cold on the first morning. Waiter knew the entire buffet was could but did not offer to microwave our plates. No maid service during our stay. beds not even made up. I found our the hotels has different coach parties each night so if they need to clean those rooms at the expense of others, I understand but wish this was highlighted before I booked. Shower over bath tub was horrendous to get it switched on. Emergency exit door was open the 3 days of our stay and propped open with a huge brick.

When we arrived the room was very cold. There was no central heating. The original dimplex heater was dirty and not working. A totally inadequate portable electric radiator had been provided but not switched on prior to our arrival. There was mould on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. The shower was pathetic and the bathroom so cold as to be almost unusable. There was mould around the window frames in the bathroom and bedroom. Condensation was pouring down both windows and the window pane in the bathroom was cracked. The bedroom carpet was dirty and it was clearly a while since the skirting boards had been cleaned. This room should not be used for paying guests.

Not for family. Please avoid. Reception was busy serving people in the bar. No attention to the people coming to stay. Had to wait for a long time just to check in. Dark everywhere in the property, no proper lighting in the room. TV not working. Property has a parking which goes through a stinky passage and unclean back door entrance. Bad experience.

This is quite a large hotel on the outskirts of the town. The room was very clean and had a decent shower. Staff were helpful and friendly. The building itself is old and had the feeling that it could do with some updating and refurbishment. Overall, good value for money in an expensive area.

DONT STAY THERE!!! Craiglynne staff lied when i arrived to check in with a reservation i made 6 months prior. She said there was an accident in our room, lied overbooked, and they had tried to contact me yet i had no calls/texts/emails from them, lied again. She told me they rebooked me at an equivalent hotel and i dont have to pay anymore. She wanted me quickly to leave even without giving me the new name and address, had to ask for yhat. The new hotel was no where equivalent, very run down, no lift, no outside area, and no way was the nightly rate the same , etc. We really needed a lift because my husband has a bad knee and just completed cancer treatment. The new hotel with no lift put us on the 3rd floor. The craiglynne would not answer the phone or emails when i reported it to the agency i booked through. Bottom line, they dont care about guest/potential guests. I was told by a local they routinely over book. DONT TAKE A CHANCE, DONT BOOK THERE. Go somewhere else and enjoy your holiday where folks dont lie and are nice to you!!!
