The first time we stayed at Little America, it was so good I booked again for Valentine’s Day. This time around was not so great. We were kindly given early check in but our room was a bit shabby. Stained curtains and lampshades. A shower door that wouldn’t close all the way so, when we used it, water got all over the floor. We wedged a washcloth into the door and that kinda worked so, we lived with it. The biggest disappointment was the bed and the way the situation was handled. The mattress was fine but when I pulled the bedding back and got into it, within minutes I began to have an allergic reaction. The sheets were uncomfortable and stiff. The comforter was leaking down. We called guest services and while they were very nice, we were told nothing could be done about the bed until the next day. Um? We were expected to spend the night in a bed that was making my skin, eyes and throat itchy and rashy? The person we spoke to did say that they would send up new sheets. It took forty minutes and two more calls before housekeeping showed up. Two of the sheets they brought were okay so, we stripped the bed, got a couple of blankets we keep in the car (thank god) and used those along with the extra blanket in the room to put together a bed we could sleep in. And we chose to sleep that way for our two night stay instead of taking the risk with new bedding. But our valentine’s celebration was ruined. I was so uncomfortable that I had to take Benadryl, which knocked me out. No fun!!
