Central place to stay

Check in was very easy. Rooms had allocated parking. Room was spacious and clean with all the amenities required. We decided to go to Tartare tunnels and the motel provided us with torches.

Very old motel. Half of the rooms back onto a gas station. When you enter the motel room, you are immediately hit with a smell of mold and stale air. The smell never goes away. Very hard to ignore. Very soft beds although you do get three them. Thy are “self-cleaning” units so you don’t get housekeeping throughout your stay. If you have a choice, stay somewhere else. Hard to get over the smell nor the gas station

We loved being able to walk to the near by restaurants. Plenty of space in the room. Bed and bathroom felt outdated though but still functioned well. No AC.

Good place to stay

Reception staff at check in very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was clean and well supplied. Room a little tired but perfect for our needs. A little noise heard from room above.

Perfect pit stop

Great little pit stop for passing through to see the Glacier. Within walking distance of all the restaurants, and a couple good nature trails. Super friendly front desk. Room is no frills but clean and in decent condition. Parking assigned for each room was a great bonus.

Friendly staff, clean and as expected.

Super friendly greeting from the front desk and staff were very responsive to our needs. They upgraded us as were staying for longer than typical guests. Franz Josef is not a fancy town and the motels are typical for what you would expect in this mountain town. I would recommend.
