The hotel is dated & is need of an upgrade. We had to change rooms cause the sink was nearly fallen off the wall. The Staff were not very friendly especially on check in and check out.

The bed was very comfortable and after a long day of walking is a great place to stay for a good night's sleep. Whilst the exterior is in need of some renovations, the interior is clearly in this process with many of the spaces being updated. My room was clean, comfortable and very quiet for a good night of rest. All in all I had a great stay here with very friendly staff and a lovely bar/ lobby area to relax.

Meh

The bed was okay, the shower was awful. The water doesn’t get hot enough, the shower head was wobbly and hard to keep in position to shower, the ceiling looked to be peeling. The food was good, drinks were good.

It’s a dump, can’t believe we paid over £300 for it. Dirty and old- in serious need of repairs and updating. Bedroom had wallpaper on the roof that looked like it was covering a surface of mould. Other comments above. If we’d paid £50 a night- maybe I’d have let this go- but it’s unjust that they’re charging that and selling themselves as if they’re a decent hotel. It’s falling apart and they should either close and improve it or knock their prices down and sell it with a honest representation of what they are.

Tired hotel in need of a lot of TLC

The building is pretty run down, it could be made nice with lots of tlc, but it is obvious the owning group have little interest in maintenance, a pity as it is in a good position. The food menu was pretty basic, but what there was was well presented, hats off to the staff. Internet was virtually non existent. There is quite a good local bus service into town, and a good choice of local taxis.

Terrible place

Absolutely terrible. They first didn’t have a room. Then gave us a room with no hot water, a broken bathroom light and a room that had a single bed in a closet sized space. The hotel is very run down and I actually tried to get a refund but they wouldn’t

Avoid

Poor from the start. Night manager never followed up on issues then denied what he said. Middle of summer resistors full blast. Rad in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off. Manager and staff promised fans then said they didn’t supply fans. In the morning was asked to return a fan that they didn’t have the night before.

The whole hotel needs a good makeover as it looks somewhat shabby. I remember when it used to look really smart especially from the outside. However the view from the hotel of Ben Nevis is stunning and the service excellent.

I stupidly thought that paying what I did for my two nights I would have a really comfortable bed. Everything is stained, walls carpets and the ceilings. Wall paper is hanging off in the dining room. There’s no restaurant available just bar meals (they were ok to be fair if you want chips with everything) the swimming pool was good but the sauna although useable is in a poor state of repair. I would not stay here again even for half price!!

Dated hotel- a bit depressing

Very expensive for what it is but that's Highland Scotland at this time of year. The hotel looks dated from outside and the public areas and bedrooms are the same. Interaction with staff was limited as I only checked in and checked out but on the one occasion I did request a little help it was not really forthcoming. The interior is gloomy and needs fresh air. Some rooms back onto a busy road and there's traffic noise throughout the day and night. I didn't eat at the hotel so can't speak for the food offering. Parking is free and plentiful. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean

It was okay but not amazing. The hotel definitely needs an exterior clean and a lick of paint. The inside felt a bit dated in the rooms. The lounge area was nice. The hotel felt a bit understaffed and service could be improved, but have to say the lad at the bar was great despite his young age. The food including breakfast was really nice, a good range of breakfast too. I’m not sure I’d stay again, potentially if I was in the area but wouldn’t rush back

Only stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Arrived around 8pm & left again around 7am the following morning. Didn’t stay for breakfast. All the staff I encountered were very friendly & helpful. Room was spotless & more than adequate for my stay. Lots of tea bags & milk so big plus for me.
