Room was comfortable and well located. Water damage to cabinetry in the bathroom made it look a bit rough for the price and bathroom was very cold. Properties grounds are outstanding.

I booked 3 nights here and on the first night there was rodent activity (rats Iā€™m guessing) in the walls, the tv is built into the wall and could hear them behind the wardrobe area. I recorded the noises that went for hours until I started banging the walls. Great way to spend time in the room in the wee hours. I approached the lady behind the counter at reception the following morning and informed her about it, she said she will speak to the maintenance team. They offered me another room. I declined and said I will leave. I went and got a couple of hours sleep and reception called me come and see them at reception. The lady behind the counter informed me they will refund the two nights I was not going to stay but not the night I spent in the room of plagues! I said you are kidding right? She said no.

Hanmer Springs Hotel has a great central location and the most amazing grounds possible. the food was delicous. The staff were a little difficult to communicate with because of accents and communication issues.

Seen this hotel on last visit so decided to book a few nights on this visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel as an elegant feel about it, the gardens and pool are lovely. As it was warm we ate ourside at the restaurant, we chose to eat in the hotel because its prices were competitive with what was on offer in town. The food was lovely, well cooked and well presented. Continental breakfast was a good start to the day. Our superior king room was spacious and overlooked the garden. We usually book apts but this change to a hotel was a lovely experience, would book again when in hanmer springs

Initial impressions were quite good; location is central to all things within walking distance, the grounds are beautiful, parking was seamless. The real disappointment came around midnight. A group of four drunk individuals camped out in the central lobby directly across from the reception desk. They were loudly yelling, laughing, and overall obnoxious. I attempted calling the front desk to ask they intervene but no one answered. At around 1:15 am, not able to sleep I went out of my room to ask they keep it quiet and ideally go to their room. I was then threatened by one of the party that ā€œIā€™ll whip you up badā€. I returned to my room, they did leave, but a night was wasted at this hotel. My poor review is based on asking in the morning if they have a night clerk, only to learn yes, and the day clerk was aware of an ā€œunrulyā€ group on the second floor. It was clear they knew who these people were, but did nothing as management to intervene at the expense of patrons who were expecting a nights rest. Horrible customer service. In the end I was not offered so much as an apology. If traveling to Hamner Springs, do the favor of staying elsewhere.
