I never actually stayed at the WoodSpring Suites in Greenbelt, Washington, DC Northeast, due to one of the worst transactions I’ve had on hotels.com. I expect any facility promoted by this platform to meet at least basic hotel standards, especially when charging over $100 per night. This property was an eyesore. Upon arriving at night, I saw people smoking marijuana right by the entrance. The reception area had no functioning air conditioning and was filled with a few unsettling individuals loitering around. The receptionist immediately told me the hotel was fully booked and that only a “handicapped” room near reception was available. He invited me to see it. The room was shabby, with stained linen, dilapidated furniture, and a strong human odor. It was not a place I would stay in for even one night. What made the experience worse was the realization that hotels.com had made a reservation that was clearly not guaranteed and had recommended such an unclean, unsafe-looking property. I was left both shocked and disappointed that a platform I trusted could be so unreliable and could promote a place so far below acceptable standards.

The property was great and we had an excellent service coming from the staff since the first day specially in with the lady that was there in agoust 1st and checked us the first night. The day after averybody was kind and felt like home though coming back if we have to. What I did not like was that the doors are not soft closing so you will hear everybody coming to their apartment everynight. Everything else was nice and as decribed. Thanks for your service! The staff was nice only that some of them where outstanding.

I liked that it was close to different food options. I didn’t like that the pillows were so flat it hurt my back the following morning. When asked if we can have extra pillows she responded by saying that they didn’t have any. I did not like that we had to pay for toilet paper!

Staff was kind Room looks clean - BUT no one rinses the floor so it is sticky and tracks dirt. Clean towels cost $9.95 PER request - that was not on the expedia site. WiFi is not free - one device( and only 1) on low speed per day is free. Otherwise it's $9.95 a week. This is not a short term hotel. AND the exit door keypad is broken so it is propped open with cardboard or a rug - sometime you cannot get out of the door which is a fire hazard. This is our third time in several years staying at this hotel it has gone seriously downhill.
Bath mat after wiping up the floor after a shower. We got two thin towels, 2 wash clothes and a bath mat. No hand towel. Floor is so sticky with cleaning stuff (I guess) that it holds dirt. We had to keep our socks on to keep our feet clean

Another great experience.

It’s my first choice when in the area. The rooms are clean and spacious. For the most part the front desk staff is very friendly and there are a good amount of places to grab food when needed.
