Reservation misled

The queen size room reserved but bed was too small more like a double and room was the size of a closet Construction on the fourth and third floor in progress we were told we might have to use the stairs and did so. We should’ve been told about the construction when we made this reservation a month ago. Noted all of this to the front desk no remedy was offered.

What I did not like: people smoking just opposite the main entrance and forcing other people to smoke in a certain extent meanwhile the premise was told to be smoke free.

They were were under construction, so the Expedia price was for the floor most involved. The workers were nice but it was sketchy. You could literally feel the floor swaying, the toilet seat was peeling, doors were slammed in the morning by maids and workers. Breakfast was good. Water isn't soft so that was a huge plus.

First, the good things - the woman at the front desk was friendly. Breakfast was well attended to by the employee. My room smelled good when I entered. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom. However, the hotel was clearly in a poor state - carpet was torn, there was duct tape connecting carpet to the tile on the 3rd floor, and doors had random paint and really bad scuff marks all over them. Lots of discoloring on the carpet in the hallways and in front of rooms. There was a sign that said "under construction" - It surely needs construction, but in my 3 days there, I didn't see any work being done. In my room I discovered 3 ants. Also, the AC unit was right next to the desk so I really couldn't sit down to work. And there was a constant buzzing sound in my room.

We selected this hotel based on the good reviews. We did notice a couple of reviews that had mentioned renovations happening. Howver we were very disappointed with the room that was given to us . The hallway was full of construction debris which were not cleaned up at all. The carpet in our room was very old and dirty.. the. Bathroom had no exhaust fan and was full of steam after a shower and collected mold because of this.. overall not a pleasant stay for us . We also had our flight delayed and we checked in a day later but ended up having to pay for 3 nights regardless.. breakfast spread was ok.

Best hotel in the area.

This is our absolute favorite place to stay. Its quiet, clean, has friendly staff and the breakfast, which is complementary, is great. Lots of choices.
