Lovely, warm welcoming pub

We received a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived at the pub. We both loved the character of the building, it's quirkiness and age. We were informed there was a quiz night, which we joined in with. We had a bit of food, and it was lovely. Again friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only downside as far as I can say is that the opaque glass in the door for the bathroom was an issue for my autistic daughter, but for most it wouldn't be a problem. Just her preference for privacy. check out was simple and again a warm welcome when we dropped off the key.

We very much enjoyed our stay in such an amazing old building full of character. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms though a little on the small side were comfortable and well presented.

Lovely quaint inn with loads of character. Staff were friendly and polite. fast check-in. Good choice of evening menu. Quality of food was really good. On a negative note, stayed in room 16 which has a very noisy toilet mulcher which makes a very loud grinding noise when flushing the toilet or even just running a tap.

Vintage charm

Lovely atmospheric pub with rooms right at the northern edge of the historic central district. The room was a nice size, but no really good place to put the luggage I was living out of. Mugs for hot beverages, but no glasses. Be aware: no washcloths. Bring your own if you need one.

Great, central location. Nice room, staff helpful and a good breakfast. Only downside was the number of stairs to our room on the second floor. I would suggest that if you have mobility issues, contact the hotel and request a ground floor room.

2nd visit, nice but very noisy room

This place is ok, well placed near the centre of town. It was my second stay here; the first time I had a perfectly nice quiet room towards the back of the building. This time I was in Room #1 which is directly above the bar area and very noisy. I was told the hotel was full and there were no other vacant rooms. If you do stay here, try to ascertain which room you will be given. Otherwise it was fine, I particularly liked the rain-head shower.

Nice room. Some noise from bins outside in the early morning and walls are thin meaning I heard guests next door. Convenient location
