Great place to stay and would do so again. Clean, safe, secured outdoor parking, friendly staff. Short walk to the city walls and tourist attractions. The meals at the restaurant downstairs were average and my fish & chips tasted very fishy/not pleasant and the chips were soggy & greasy. The worst meal I had in the 3 weeks of travels.

Great location for stay in Chester

Great location for the races, shopping, etc. Reception staff friendly. Breakfast was great, not usually a fan of buffet cooked breakfasts, but because the hotel asks what time you would like to eat, the breakfast is put out based on expected numbers so wasn’t left in a greasy dried up mess like some. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff and services were excellent. Our bedroom was a 'standard' twin so maybe doesn't reflect others. As a hotel it lacked a lounge area with comfortable seating.

The biggest disappointment was the breakfast offering. Anyone that likes a varied continental style breakfast will be very disappointed. Fruit virtually non existent except for apples, oranges and some tinned fruit. Asked for a banana and was told we don’t have them. No natural yoghurt - only non fat fruit yoghurts. No honey. Bakery only had croissants and pre cooked bread. Tiny area for cooked breakfast collection, no omelettes. The whole breakfast experience reminded me of hotels back in 70s or 80s. Very surprised.

‘Nice’

Check in staff were exceptionally pleasant and really helpful. There needs to be more clarity about car parking online, including location and cost. The hotel feels comfortable to be in, the atmosphere and decor were lovely, but it does feel slightly dated in some areas. In the rooms, there is brick wallpaper which makes the rooms look cold. The traffic from outside is beyond the control of the hotel, but maybe by installing aircon, customers would be able to close the windows. Breakfast was ok. The bacon and sausages looked as though they’d been cooked under the heat of a hair dryer. A couple of minutes longer in the oven would not hurt at all.
