"Very handy to the airport. Easy parking"
Service was excellent. A quiet drink at the bar was lovely with comfy lounges. Parking was easy and reasonably priced. Undergoing renovations at the moment but they didn't impact our stay at all.

"Small room but comfortable"
The rooms are small but with all amenities expected. The proximity to the airport means I did not have to waste precious sleeping time getting to and from the airport...a BIG plus. I would stay there again.

"Pleasant surprise"
I stayed here overnight on business, what a pleasant surprise! I would never have chosen it, had it not been for the glowing reviews I read by other travellers. The entrance is in the RSL club, it's tiny and didn't set large expectations - however when I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised. Very well appointed, clean, light, airy and spacious. There is quite a lot of building noise between 7am and 5pm however I was there on business so arrived ~4.30pm and only had to put up with a bit of banging for half an hour. I left before 7 so didn't hear anything else. It was super quiet, part of the club so you can visit their restaurants however I crossed the road and enjoyed some of the fantastic Vietnamese cuisine that Bankstown has to offer. Would (surprisingly) stay again!

    Pocket Guide: Sutherland

The Sutherland Region is affectionately known as "The Shire" to local residents. Just 25km south of the Sydney CBD, it offers pristine surf beaches, beautiful natural waterways and four spectacular national parks. Book your Sutherland Region accommodation today and find out why the locals joke that they never have to leave!

The birthplace of modern Australia, the Sutherland Region is an oasis rich with history. Here you can discover the landing site of Captain James Cook, who first came ashore in the April of 1770. Take a picture on the exact rock where he first stepped ashore, which is located in a suburb now known as Kurnell. Today Sutherland is predominantly a residential area with a huge range of activities for visitors and locals alike.

Here, you can shop up a storm at Miranda, which is home to the massive Westfield that was once the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere. Feel like catching some rays and waves? Enjoy the sun and the surf at Cronulla Beach, where you can walk along the popular Cronulla Walk and explore the rock pools and scenic vistas of the coast and waterways out to Port Hacking. Get under the waves at Shiprock Point Marine Reserve, which is an excellent spot for snorkelling and diving, especially in February when the water is at its warmest. You can even see tropical fish! Fishermen love the Georges River, where you can sail all the way from Botany Bay to Liverpool - it's more than enough to keep you busy for a few days!

Swap your flippers for walking shoes and take a walk through the Royal National Park, one of the oldest in the world and just a short drive south. If you're a keen birdwatcher, head to Towra Point Nature Reserve, a wetland that's the breeding ground for many rare and endangered species. For a taste of culture, don't miss the Aboriginal rock carvings at Bundeena.

Whether you are looking for nature or designer shopping, the Shire offers the best mix of coastal relaxation combined with cosmopolitan luxury. Book from our range of Sutherland Region accommodation and enjoy the buzz of the cafes, the call of nature and the fabulous shopping. You'll be glad you did.
