After 2.1/2 hour drive.Arrived at 1.40 to note at reception advising not back until 2.05.
There was an old paper and a cut out behind the TV.
Prefer soap to dispensers.
Toweling a bit underdone.
Overall quite good.
"Nice hotel close to hospitals and public transport"
Friendly staff. Like the refurbished facilities. The ambience was welcoming.
Shower leaked due to broken strip. Bed was comfortable. Could do with more supportive pillows.
We thought the restaurant had reasonable rates, but they could do with more gluten free options...they did not have gluten free bread on the day. The meals were tasty.
It is very good place to stay short term or overnight as we thought the rate was very reasonable.
The only negative issue was , after checking in , we saw a USED chocolate wrapper in basket , hidden under packet of nuts of which we would have been charged for until bought to managements attention & an empty container left in cupboard .

We chose this hotel as a weekend base close to family. Reception was efficient and helpful when we had some last-minute changes to make to the booking. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel because of involvement with outside activities, but we found it to be quiet, clean and restful, and within easy distance of shops and restaurants. Our room was spacious. The shower was over the bath, which did not concern us, but may not have suited elderly guests or those with impaired mobility
We thought that the room was a little tired, and the parking facilities were not good at times. First impression of the room wasn't great but overall we had a comfortable stay. The title "harbour side accommodation" was a little misleading. No water in sight from our room - in fact all we saw was the building next door out of a tiny window - but in general it was a good place to stay
