A very pleasant stay. Big room, upgraded due to a problem with the original room, no road noise despite the motel being located on the main road through town.

We received an upgrade to the bridal suite which was a nice surprise. The suite however is very gaudy in its very gold decor. Not something I would think an Australian bride would like. We dined around the fire alone as Xmas in July was taking place in the dining room. The dining room is like a mess hall - it could do with a bit of warmth. It didn't look inviting at all. Overall you get what you pay for and this was quite a nice, cheap getaway.

"Peaceful"
I was after a peaceful, relaxing break; 'away from it all', and that's what I got. The restaurant was excellent and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Can't wait to go back!

    Pocket Guide: Berry

Looking for an easy and relaxing holiday in the country? Then look no further than Berry, located in the beautiful Shoalhaven area of New South Wales. Whether you’re from overseas, out of state or New South Wales, Berry offers a gorgeous country setting that sets it apart from other nearby destinations. Why not check it out for yourself with a stay in one of our Berry hotels?

Named after the Berry brothers who helped settle the area, Berry was known for its dairy farming and timber industries, especially because of the many tall red cedar trees that fenced the area. Today, Berry’s lush green fields hint at the town’s dairy farming past, while its rustic charm is preserved by the heritage buildings that remain standing to this day.

Berry’s country nature is perfectly complemented by the range of shops and attractions you’ll find around town. Learn more about the town’s history at the Berry Historic Museum, housed in a unique, red-bricked building that once served as the local bank. Here you can take a look at a collection of items, memorabilia and photographs from the town’s past. Creative sorts will want to check out one of the many art galleries, which feature traditional and modern works from local and international artists. You might even see a piece that will be right at home on your wall! You don’t have to go far to shop for more arts and crafts either; Berry features many little boutiques and stores that sell beautiful handmade gifts and homewares, such as teapots, toys and other souvenirs.

Berry loves its gardens and parks, as shown by the neatly-kept gardens and flower patches that line the streets. However, the town really blooms in October during the Berry Gardens Festival, when visitors can step into some of the finest gardens open to the public. Walk through tranquil gardens, dense rainforests or picnic under the shade of a gazebo. Other events on the calendar include the Berry Agricultural and Horticultural Show in February, which gives visitors a glimpse of country life. Expect to see beef and dairy cattle, rodeo shows and wood chopping displays. The Berry Musicale is another popular event held during May and June, and features local and international music and performing arts acts.

Berry is only two hours away from Sydney, so it’s no wonder this town has become so popular with Sydneysiders looking to escape. So for a berry good holiday, why not follow suit and take a trip down to this wonderful little town and explore its sights? Check out our Berry accommodation below!
