This hotel was fantastic once again. I discovered a few years ago and stay here every May during my annual trip to the Netherlands. The train station is across the street and within a few stops of Amsterdam Centraal and airport. Convenient cycling routes will easily take you into surrounding neighborhoods and local tourist attractions. Convenient shopping and grocery store are within steps of the hotel. As for the hotel itself, the staff is amazing and more than will to assist, the breakfast is 5 stars, rooms are very clean, lots of amenities, and is bike friendly if you bring your own bike. I will stay here when I return next May. There’s no reason to even consider staying elsewhere. I highly recommend!!!

Stayed here before a few times over the years. The only thing they need to sort out is access to and from the train station pavement level. With heavy bags and the municipal lifts and escalators both not working there is no alternative! The hotel has an option via the meeting and conference area but they were disinclined to facilitate that for us! Disappointing!

Overall very clean and comfortable space in a convenient location. It was a bit difficult not being able to use the lift with luggage to exit the building. But overall good experience.

I was initially very concerned when I booked this hotel. It looked obviously odd (fit perfectly with the area). The train was directly across the street and ran constantly to Amsterdam Central. Train was inexpensive and allowed us to be away from downtown, but close enough to quickly go each day. Highly recommend this property. Even the train to/from the airport. Close to the windmills.

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights, whole duration of time the shower head was not working and after asking stuff to fix it and them supposedly fixing it-still was not working, fridge was not working till they either change or fix it, iron fell apart while being plugged in-luckily i did not got electric shock, when we came to lobby customer service and ask for partial refund or discount - they refused, they never offered us another room for all these inconveniences, and gave us cold unfriendly attitude, especially lady who said she was the manager. Hotel located in nice place and looks pretty outside, breakfast had good choices, but amenities in the room are old and non-working and some customer service employees of this hotel should not be working in hospitality industry

Decent hotel, rooms and bathroom were a good size. Great location and really easy to get to and from Amsterdam central (about 10mins) very regular trains. A few mins walk from the station. Breakfast was good with a reasonable variety from cold and hot. It got a little busy at peak times and could have perhaps done with another coffee machine. A short walk down the main high street brings you to a variety of bars/resturants. If you want to get away from the very busy centre of Amsterdam for the evening then its well worth trying Zandam and then short commute in. Main issue we had were the 2 single beds as opposed to one double. I don't recall booking one or the other but just went along with it. It wasn't the best and tended to slide off the base and bit and felt you were rolling off. Also given the hotel was refurbished in 2010 I would have expected USB ports but there were just normal plug sockets. There were a couple of usb's in the back of the tv which you can use but not as convenient. Also the tea/coffee did not have any milk (even long life). I guess we could have asked but would have expected this rather than asking. All staff were polite and courteous.

Fantastic stay in castle-like property. Luggage delivery with some stairs was expected and the host would tell you the nearest way to make it. Don’t try to take 4-course dinner or more if you are Asians as the portions are large indeed but perfect each course. No complaint though the price of dinning experience was set at high side. Dinner staff was funny and sociable while breakfast staff was friendly and eager to give us an introduction about the secret room behind the breakfast area. Nice! Sharp weather change between day and night. Guests should be aware of it.

Fabulous holiday

First trip to Europe since married! Celebrated 35th wedding anniversary and my 65tg birthday. I was presented with a small box of chocolates on arrival. That was lovely. Loved staying at this hotel and in Zaandam. Will definitely book again.
