We enjoyed being on the quieter side of Yellowstone with easy access to the sights. There was even a walking trail from the property that leads to the canyon. We saw elk and bison right on the lodge grounds.

Our room was not thoroughly cleaned—there were oatmeal pieces scattered on the floor when we checked in. The shower space was too small; making it difficult to move around, even for someone 5'3" like myself. We had reserved a queen bed, but it appeared smaller than a standard queen, with bed sheets that didn’t fully cover the mattress. Additionally, the mattress was too soft for our preference. However, the lodge location was excellent for visiting Hayden Valley- just a short 5–10 minute drive away.

Canyon was perfect for our daily schedule for Yellowstone sites. Loved being able to use the ice machine for our cooler each day. Loved waking up to a Bison 100 ft from our room. (I heard his name is Kyle :)) Easy check in and check out process! Room was clean and sufficient for the little time we spent there.

No WiFi, walls are super thin, toilet is less than a couple feet from bed, super small rooms with NO tv, parking is first come, food is blend and cafeteria style externally expensive. Would recommend a different location, camping and taking food up there

Worth it!

When it comes to in-park accommodations, this location was fantastic! There is no air conditioning or tv, but that is part of staying in the park. A fan was provided (we also brought one), and the mini-fridge was very helpful! As others have mentioned, food in the park is meh, but if you manage your expectations, it’s fine. However, the room itself is the best I’ve stayed at in the park and it is fairly centrally located. Also, we had a bison graze right in front of our window twice. Would definitely stay here again!!

The property felt more like a dorm than a hotel. There were no TVs, no cell service, and internet was slow and out more than it was on. Room was very small and not very private. Restaurants, were not restaurants, they were either a diner or a cafeteria and the food was limited in choices and not good.

The nice part: located in canyon village in the middle of the park. But the hotel dated. Beds, mattresses, pillows, sheets were all mediocre.

Great location, I was surprised that they had no TV. Not a big deal just surprised me. There WIFI is not good, hard to get and stay on line. We enjoyed the room’s logical setup. Great Wolfgang puck coffee! Staff was excellent. Picture was taken from our window in our room.

This lodge is in a great location within Yellowstone. The beds were comfortable and I love the sustainable/environmentally-friendly practices encouraged to guests of the lodge. Staff were friendly. The only negative issue we encountered was the noise outside of our room. We left our windows open to allow cool air into our room since the lodge is not equipped with A/C (it warms up quickly during summer days). We were on the third floor of the building where guests register and between the buses, car alarms, and people loudly talking, we did not get to enjoy the peace and quiet we’d hoped for into the early evenings. I highly recommend requesting a room in a building away from the registration building!
