It's important to note that my visit was in the off season. I can’t say what it would be like during the season with all activities available. I rented two rooms so my elderly father and I each had a place to stay. Lodging was essentially a bunkhouse split into six small rooms each with a bathroom. The room itself served it's purpose: it was warm and a place to sleep. The bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom was in good condition. I had two major complaints. First, the doors did not seem very secure. While the doors shut fully, the doorknobs to both rooms seemed very loose and shaky like it wouldn't take much to break them off. There was no secondary lock (deadbolt, etc.). My bigger complaint was the lack of meaningful internet. Despite the listing saying "wi-fi available", the definition is apparently loose: it was non-existent in the rooms and I was only able to connect at all when I was right next to the main building/restaurant. With a lot of activities this may not have been an issue, but it was depressing in such a small room otherwise - not to mention that because cell service with a major carrier was also non-existent, I had no way to check on my father or for him to contact me if he fell, etc. When I asked about the wi-fi, the clerk shrugged and said, "yeah, it doesn't work around most of the rooms" and went back to reading his phone. In sum, an adequate but unrelaxing stay. Under different circumstances it may be fun, but I don't plan to stay here again.

It wasn’t a bad place. However they have about 20 dogs in a pin right outside the cabin. Every night they would start howling and go on for about 10 minutes. This happened about 3-4 times every night. There were semi’s that would roar down the road. ATVs driving around very early. And the windows were so thin you could even hear the other guests starting their cars. The room itself was cute and cozy. Staff were extremely nice. Very close to the National Park. Easy to find.

The room was a basic ranch room with a confortable log cabin style bed. We were in the Otter house which was towards the edge of the property. It had a beautiful view of the river and surrounding area. The internet wasnt working our first night and when reported to the front desk staff we were told it was the weather but that we could drive over to the lodge buidling or the main buidling where the front desk and restaurant were. We noticed that the modem router box that was attached to the wall near our room was not on so we reset it and voila we had access to the internet. It was disappointing that the staff just blew us off and didnt even offer to have the modem checked or anything. Also the restaurant was extremely expensive for the quality and amout of food given. We paid almost $75 for breakfast for 2 people which consisted of 2 pieces of french toast and 2 sausage patties and an egg breakfast that came with potatoes and sausage, plus 2 hot chocolates. I underatand that prices are going to be a little higher due to the remote location, and being located right outside of Grand Teton NP. But this was a little extreme even for that. We did not eat any other meals on property because of the prices. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again in the future. The room was rustic but comfortable and the location was beautiful.

Room was clean and beds comfortable. Nice to have the couch for sitting on. No fridge or tv but that was fine by us. The lodge was dirty and dead flies by the windows but the views were incredible!!!! I was willing to overlook the dirty lodge because of the view. I would even book again!

Large window on entry door had internal shutters sandwiched between glass and the closure mechanism was broken in the open position. No room privacy. Inadequate WiFi, no TV, no microwave or frig, 100% no lighting on stairs or near vehicle (dangerous situation). For the high price one would expect more.

Nice place at potential fell short

The place really had a lot of potential cabins were nice thin walls very noisy if you had an inconsiderate neighbors. They covered wagon sleeping is a very cool concept. Horseback riding in dog sledding on the property was a good concept. The merchandise was high priced. Was going to buy a t-shirt but they wanted $30. The on-site restaurant had very poor service but the food was decent very high priced for what you get. We actually drove into Jackson to eat the next day got much better food and service for around the same price. We had a nice location was nice right outside of the Grand Tetons viewing the Tetons from the parking area. Basically about 10 minutes away. The place seem to need a manager to organize things better. Maybe sell the t-shirts and merge a little cheaper so you could get the name out the more people you have walking around with your merchandise on will ask people questions to get more people to come. Bring the cost of food down reasonable to where people would be more apt to eat on site.

The room had a few issues. The "window covering, or curtain" was a dirty towel, there were cracks in the wall in which light shown through from the next room's bathroom...if light shown through, it was possible that there was a privacy issue. Only half the light bulbs in the room worked, there was no way to contract the office if there were any concerns (re. safety etc.)...other than to get up, get dressed, and walk a fair distance to the office. The light outside of our room, on the porch, was not working. On our second evening, the occupants next to our room continually tried to get into our room (hopefully by mistake). They then began laughing and partying until 1 am, making it impossible to sleep. It took banging on the wall and shouting at the wall to get them to quiet down. The deck, directly in front of our room was torn out, and the wooden walk way from the cabin to the parking area was in need of repair (boards loose...hazard). The cafe needed attention. There were three "dude ranch employees" working in the cafe, at the time there were a number of attractive female patrons in the cafe. The employees devoted all their attention and time flirting with the girls, and so I was not able to even get a cup of coffee. They even went as far as joining the girls at their table and ignoring the other patrons in the cafe. After several minutes of failing to get their attention, I left the counter, and left; my wife and I went and had breakfast in the nearby town.

The room was comfortable and clean. The rest of the property was past it’s prime and dusty. Staff were tolerant of guests, but not friendly. The restaurant staff charged automatically 20% tip on dinner for 2. Bring your own bottle or cup for water otherwise they charge $3 for the cup to provide free water. The restaurant burgers and fries were tasty. Beverages of all types were in short supply.

The place could be cute, but it has so many problems it doesn’t make up for anything. We stayed for 4 nights, in 2 rooms. One ran out of water when too many people used it, one had no hot water, one had marginal internet, the other had none. There is ZERO cell service, so this is an issue. The walls are paper thin, we could hear when people used the toilet, not to mention entire conversations. No screens in the window, no fan or circulation in the bathrooms, paint peeling off the walls, flies everywhere since it’s next to horses but they don’t try to manage it even in the restaurant which is super expensive. $85 for two burgers, fried pickles & one soda (the food was excellent though, when you weren’t swatting the dozens of flies). There were no lights outside the doors to get to your car and there were broken steps and ones that definitely aren’t up to code (too skinny). It had one nice shower, when the water was available and hot. We stayed in 5 places in the Yellowstone & Tetons area. This was more expensive than some and the only one that was totally unacceptable on every level. Again it could be cute, the area is spectacular, the places could be fixed up and managed better. But as of right now I highly recommend people avoid staying unless you just need a bed for the night and can sleep through other people using the bathroom and don’t need to communicate with anyone while your there!

Let’s start with the good: the scenery overlooking Buffalo Valley is stunning, especially at sunset. Check-in was easy enough, although the check-in staff was pretty inhospitable. The cafe was a fun experience although pricey. When taking a shower, the water was COMPLETELY cold 5 minutes into the shower (not enough of a tank to supply the rooms). The walls also seemed super thin as we had a baby crying on one side and could hear entire conversations on the other. The main downfall was being woken up several times in the night from a pack of huskies howling and barking. They were directly across the road and we’re talking a couple dozen at least not just a few farm dogs. When they started barking and howling 4-5 times in the night, it woke everyone up in the room (kids and all). There also was a mouse and I heard it scampering through the room all night (found a tissue nest in the morning). It could be a really cool and unique place, but the set up leaves a lot to be desired. To be honest, it felt like a tourist trap, so I’d skip it if you want a decent night sleep and a warm shower (bare minimum in IMHO).

Limited heat and its 30 degrees here. Only heat in the bathroom was a small plug in heater that had to be plugged in by the sink. Very safe! The hair dryer put out more heat. Extension cords running for the lamp. Im very mad at myself for not researching this better. Pictures are very misleading.

The staff in the main office was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and easy to find. However, the water to our room turned off during my shower and we were out of water for 45 minutes. We called in the morning to ask about why our water went out and they informed us it was because the water tank to the lodge we were in must have run out due to the capacity of lodgers using the water. This is understandable as it is a ranch house, but a heads up would have been nice to know in advance!

The view was incredible. The bed was comfortable. There was only enough room for 1 tiny chair in the corner. Very uncomfortable to sit on. We never could get internet even outside our room. We had to drive down to restraunt and use it there. Very irritating since we run a business and couldnt get through. Shower pan needs to be replaced, you stand in a pool of someone elses shower water. View is incredible though. Restraunt issues: The cook refused to make the trout and fried chicken. She said she didnt want to deal with it. Chef said only thing you could order on menu was something fried or a burger. Ridiculous...

If you want a place that has a smell like a sewer, a bathroom door held open with a rock, staff members that cuss like crazy with other guests in the cafe, the ability to hear every guest near you and those walking around you…this is your place. Also, no need to tip-it’s included in the bill !regardless of the level of service or whether you enjoyed your meal. We paid for 3 nights; left after the first.
