Xi Cheng boasts an impressive number of museums catering to a wide range of tastes and interests. They include Xu Beihong Museum, Capital Museum, the China Science and Technology Museum, Prince Gong's Mansion and Garden, and former homes of various influential figures from China's history. There are also several splendid temples. See the large Lidai Diwang Miao and learn about its sinister past as a temple for making sacrifices. Another favourite is the pretty Taoist White Cloud Temple. Visitors can see the minimal remains of the old city wall at Deshengmen.

Natural attractions

As evening falls there are several concert halls and theatres offering an array of performances. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and clubs too. And, of course, you are not far from the famous Beijing sights such as Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and you can easily get to sections of the Great Wall for an interesting day trip.
