This was a stopover to visit friends and I needed to be near them and the sea! The accommodation was easy to find and although there were parking spaces there that I could have used earlier in the day - at night there were none (so I was glad I'd left my car near my friend's house after our day out together. She gave me a lift there in the end, owing to the bitter cold that night (-2 outside).. I couldn't easily figure out how to enter the door code as it was a flat smart screen surface. I simply couldn't see the little hand written note below it in the dark saying how to enter codes. In the end, a hotel lady appeared to let me in. I explained I couldn't see the tiny note. First off, I made my way to the room I was supposedly allocated. It was a bit of a shock, as I entered a room that was clearly in occupation. Fortunatley no one was actually in the room, but their stuff was on the chairs and clearly this was someone's paid for room! I had to return downstairs, but this time was given a top floor room up in the garrett. This was ok and roomy enough, but rather cold. The heating was barely on! Fortunately I had bought myself a snug blanket top. I mentioned the cold to a lady on my exit at checkout the next day - she said I could have had an extra heater in there. I just wasn't sure about going back down again given the proprietor was apparently ready for bed and I was a bit concerned about leaving my room, after my earlier experience. Reasonable stay however.
