West Ashley Cheap Hotels

The room was not properly clean. There was mold around the soap dish in the tub. 1 trash can in the entire room. Our phone didn't work and had to pay for parking. I have never had to pay for parking at any hotel I have stayed at I have traveled all across this country and this hotel I will NOT recommend. It was a family trip with my daughter and granddaughter and it was very disappointing.

Good location. Friendly staff. However, TWICE, while trying to nap on successive afternoons, someone tried to enter my room, stopped only by the internal security latch. The first time it was maintenance checking out their lock system (uh, Knock please?) and the second time they actually gave my OCCUPIED ROOM to another tenant in spite of me occupying it! Had I NOT been there, a complete stranger would have had unfettered access to all of my things!

The staff at the DoubleTree were great. Very helpful. We got upgraded to a larger suite, but the suite appeared to have been recently renovated and not complete. There were no dressers and the closet was small. The bed was a little worn and sunk in some in the middle. The bar area had 2 TVs, but one was playing fairly loud music with inappropriate lyrics. The bartender disappeared numerous times and did not seem concerned with the cleanliness of the bar. Morning breakfast was nice, biscuits were great. Unfortunately, they only had one person working to fill coffee, bring out extra food and cash people out. The poor woman working the breakfast was constantly busy and found it difficult to refill coffee or get us a check. The site did have a vehicle to take you into town and the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I just expected more from a DoubleTree hotel.
