We were looking for a reasonably priced, pet friendly hotel to stay at for the weekend. When I originally booked it, for some reason, I was thinking it was $80 something per night. If that were the case, then I wouldn't complain, but it ended up costing way more. We ended up adding a third night and he said the balance, and I thought that was for all 3 nights and thought "yup that sounds right". He didn't give me a receipt or anything. When I checked my credit card, there were 2 separate charges, one was for around $280, and the second was for around $230. I thought they accidentally charged me twice, but no. One charge was for the first 2 nights that I had booked online, and the second was for the additional third night. It was a Sunday into Monday, so it didn't make sense it cost twice as much. When we went to check out there was no one even in the office, so I couldn't dispute it with them. No one should pay more than $80/night to stay here. The room was falling apart. The floor boards were lifting, and they had apparently tried to screw them back down, but there were edges still sticking up, so you couldn't walk around barefoot. The bathroom door didn't close properly, and the shower curtain was gross. There were some sketchy characters hanging around, so I was glad we had our dog with us. Like I said, if the total was $280 for 3 nights, I got what I paid for, but not for over $500.

Pretty centrally located property and reasonably close to Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, Wells Beach, and all the other most important nearby towns. It is however, really not very well marked, along the road and is actually rather difficult to locate especially at night, and they should REALLY invest in better signage if they want their guests to find them easier. This property as a whole is definitely rather outdated in most ways, in fact still even uses metal keys, but it was basically reasonably clean overall, and was basically adequate for the single night we were staying there, but I would definitely want much more for any longer stays as it really didn't offer much more than a place to hang your head for the night. These rooms really do need guest use safes provided which they lack for no good reason. Additionally this hotel has a very high step up into the room which was very difficult and somewhat unsafe for mobility challenged individuals, like myself. Additionally, the quality of provided soap and shampoo was also rather lacking as compared to other hotels we regularly encountered throughout this area. Some guests were having a campfire the night we were staying there which looked interesting so that is available to those interested, and it had basketball courts that were being used as well earlier in the day.

The mattress was on a wire spring set on boards. Every time I moved it slid off the box!The mattress was comfortable. The area was quiet! I should have requested a first floor room. There was no elevator and it wasn’t easy for a 76 year old woman to carry a suitcase up the stairs.

Front desk staff were friendly, there is plenty of parking, and when we entered the room, we thought it was cute. The room was clean, but we did notice that there was a bit of coffee left in the coffee maker that had molded. I removed the coffee bag from the top, and brought the pot to the front desk. I’m pretty sure they just washed it and gave it back to me. The rest of our stay was good. We were there for 2 nights, and overall was a decent place to stay.
