Among the hundred or so places in Virginia Beach, Surfbreak is an entirely serviceable place to stay. Its oceanfront location is ideal, the rooms are comfortable but campy, and while on-site parking is a challenge, there is a large and safe lot to park in that's just a 3-minute walk away. Right next door is a 4 Points that's $450 a night. Surfbreak is a clear value and worth a night or two.

The location was awesome and the maintenance to the beach was superior. The property was outdated and had a bit of an unpleasant smell. The bathtub would not drain and the carpet was dirty. Our room key rarely worked and we had to get it “rekeyed” multiple times a day. The hotel staff were helpful and polite. Free coffee and water bottles in the lobby was a nice perk. The attached restaurant had decent food but service was slow.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The only problem is that there is limited parking on the hotel grounds, however there is additional parking about a block away.

Very nice but restaurant bar n grill is too loud at night for those that customers at the hotel... that definitely needs work. Oh no more for breakfast like hot food... people that are disabled sometimes don't the energy go out for breakfast. I didn't feel comfortable going inside a bar for breakfast.

This was a nightmare. We complained the first day and we were told someone would clean the carpet. The next day we complained of the other concerns and we were offered another room. No form of compensation was offered and the new room had stains and damage too but not as bad as the first. At this point we will not be back to this Hotel.

Great stay. Very clean good oceanfront view I would go back and or refer a friend or family. Lobby is very clean great customer service.
