Accommodation In Upolu

Whilst not the biggest, Upolu is the most populous of Samoa’s several islands. It’s home to the capital city of Apia as well as the main international airport. Although Samoa sees relatively few visitors, many people who do choose to visit this stunning country spend a fair amount of time on this island. As well as a great selection of restaurants and bars, there are also plenty of attractions and superb scenic spots. The outer edges of the island are fringed with gorgeous sandy beaches, the waters are home to a variety of marine life and beautiful reefs, and the inner parts of the island contain greenery-clad hills, forests, and many delightful waterfalls. It is a great destination for people who like to travel to less touristy destinations, and who enjoy nature and cultural activities with a great selection of facilities within easy reach. We have some great Upolu hotels to choose from, so why not plan a trip to this lovely part of the South Pacific?

In the capital city of Apia you can visit the former home and grave of famous writer Robert Louis Stevenson. The Museum of Samoa contains a large number of exhibits and displays and is a great place to learn more about the island’s history and culture. Elsewhere on the island, you can climb the highest mountain in Samoa, Mount Fito, for amazing views, explore Lake Lanoto’o National Park, visit small traditional villages, and enjoy very pretty waterfalls. A particular favourite is the fun Papase’ea Sliding Rocks where, as the name suggests, you can whoop with joy as you slide your way into the deliciously cool pool at the bottom of the waterfall.

You will also want to spend some time relaxing on the famous Samoan beaches. Let the tropical sun gently caress you and when it’s time to cool down head into the ocean for a swim. Great surfing, snorkelling, fishing, and diving are also available, and there are a number of smaller islands within easy reach that are perfect for day-tripping. A visit to the unspoiled island of a href="https://www.wotif.com/Savaii-Hotels.d6320271.Travel-Guide-Hotels">Savai’i is highly recommended! Kick back with a glass or two of vailima, the local beer, enjoy a tasty range of traditional foods, and let your cares drift away as you experience life in paradise!

If you can’t wait to sample the many delights of Upolu why not set the wheels in motion for your next trip? Have a look at our excellent flights to Samoa and our terrific Upolu accommodation and treat yourself to the break you deserve.
