I like the property because it was surrounded by many beautiful flowers & it does represent a hotel in the island. The front desk was available 24 /7 and it was an awesome service! The breakfast was magnificent. The butlers did an awesome job of being around despite the time of the night! Friendly staff. Our time in Samoa was brief and so busy because we were there for a wedding, & that we went in & out almost every time & everyday. In saying that, I didn't like our room remained untidy for the whole time we spent there. That also means, that our shower floor remained wet, dirty and even our bedsheets never got changed! I have to tell my son to be careful walking in the shower because it was slippery. We had to do it ourselves when we return back to the hotel find nothing has done to it. We didn't want to ask anyone to come and tidy our room when we present in the room! Our room only got tidy on our last day before we depart on early morning the following day! There were no toilet papers, shower body wash, hair shampoos & conditioners, when we got there despite informing the front desk. We bought our own! The toilet couldn't flush nearly all the time, when asked, they said "its old american model!"

Fresh towels, clean linen on the bed and the complimentary toiletries and coffee replenished daily. Room was always clean and fresh.

Staff at Insel we’re friendly and approachable. My personal favorite was Patricia at the front desk. Breakfast was great.

I already paid all the expenses for the hotel, then on checking out, the receptionist staff member tried to say I had to pay an extra $90.00 for my daughter who’s 15 years old, when it clearly states under the “GUEST CHARGES AND ROOM CAPACITY” clause that “This property considers guests aged 17 and under, at time of travel, to be children”. I refused to make the payment & showed her my itinerary, she claims the age is 12 not 17, I am Samoan myself & it annoys me when people try to steal & pocket money for themselves this way. I think someone needs to address this property because who knows how many people end up paying extra when they shouldn’t. I think it’s outright stealing what she was trying to do.

Very disappointing Very poor Service and meals

On arrival no power in room happened twice, Fridge didn't work when replace new fridge left in room unplugged and was not informed it was new fridge. Had informed Hotel before arrival two guest's Gluten free, not Gluten free Breakfast options until 3rd day. Room not cleaned properly Rubbish sometimes not removed. No handle on outside Balcony Door hard to get back in. Not given enough notice of meals on Public Holidays.. Pool not open for 2 days right on New Year chose Hotel because of pool for Grandchild

Dear Kathleen, thank you for your feedback and once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately in Samoa we experience many power outages causing havoc with our equipment hotel expense every year. You arrived during an outage and fortunately we were able to have services up before nightfall. These outages cause spikes in the power affecting our equipment. For this very reason we had to replace your refrigerator. Your room was the only room that was affected at the time. For guest safety and in accordance with recommended operation, once we move a refrigerator, it is our practice to keep the fridges unplugged until the chemicals within settle thus the reason you found the fridge unplugged when you entered your room at that time. Yes, because of our full house, our pool was used from morning to night and we closed the pool to correct it's PH balance so that our guests would not become ill. The hotel was able to offer gluten free meals, however, you are correct in that the gluten free bread was not available until the bakery made time to make them special at our request for you and your family. Believe you met our Manager when you first arrived and she spoke to you before leaving and she apologised as well as agreed to a peace offering to make amends. During your stay our manager reminded our team daily to make sure your were taken care of. Our sincere apologies if we failed to deliver. We appreciate your comments which will be shared with all employees and taken on board to improve on our guest services. We thank you and your family for choosing Insel Fehmarn. God bless.

Cons: Breakfast food could be more interesting - maybe a choice of breakfast cereals?
Location: Location is good - not far from RLS Museum; Giordano's restaurant is across the road; good massage place nearby; Lynn's supermarket nearby.
Hotel is very good value for money and rooms are large.

Under staffed and barely hanging on

I stayed there for 10 days. For 9 of those 10 days I was told I couldn't have clean towels. They would take away my old towels and leave me with no towels. Everyday I would have to ask and everyday I received the reply "sorry we have no clean towels. We will bring you some tonight." I never did get any! toilet paper was never replenished. No tea towel. Dishes never washed. Dishes were dirty when I arrived. We have stated there previously with no problems, but the whole complex has gone to the pack! Tired and dirty.... so disappointed. Such a waste of money!
