It sounds like the Shinagawa Prince Hotel may be showing its age, with rooms experiencing odors and the food being pricey for its quality. However, its proximity to the station is definitely a plus. Staying on the 26th floor likely provided a good view though. Overall, it seems like a mixed experience.

Very convenient, right in front if Shinagawa's station. The room was perhaps small and decor pretty "old style" but it was was exactly what we expected. It is a convenient, very large and well run hotel in central Tokyo.

Shinagawa Prince Hotel has the best location. Very easy access to train station. Room is decent size. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is due to update. This hotel has long line for breakfast. They have some challenges to manage volume of guests in the morning.

Terrible Customer Services
The customer services were so bad. We couldn’t even check in at the front desk and there was no help. The breakfast buffet waiters were so rude. For example, I asked one of the waiter how to dispense the hot water, he responded in Japanese and walk away.

Hotel is lovely. Very well located. Near ( actually above) anything you could want. Bed mattress was very hard though. Made my back hurt sleeping on it.
