Nestled in its own paddock and surrounded by lush trees, our tiny home is often visited by Rocky, the friendly mini horse.

The Space:

Cockatoo Cabin by Tiny Away is a charming farm stay escape in Palmwoods – Gateway to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, offering a relaxing rural getaway surrounded by nature. Experience tiny house living while staying close to Noosa National Park Walk, Mooloolaba Beach, Noosa Beach, Wildlife HQ, and Point Cartwright Lighthouse, just a few of the attractions in the area.



A lovely space set on 17 acres of land where you can unwind and relax. This cozy 139-square-foot tiny home has easy access to fresh tank water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).



IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, "Kookaburra Cabin," available with 24 hours' notice, ensuring you have even more cozy holiday homes to enjoy.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the tiny home and its surroundings. Walk around the property, have a hit of tennis, swim in the pool (cold in winter), or just relax, read a book and pat the animals.

Cockatoo Cabin by Tiny Away sits in the rural town of Palmwoods – Gateway to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where you can explore local restaurants, cafés, shops, and attractions. Experience tiny house living in one of the best farm stay accommodations in Queensland, with nearby favourites such as Noosa National Park, Maleny, Montville, and Point Cartwright Lighthouse.



Or spend the day exploring Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Noosa Main Beach, Noosa, or Kings Beach, or enjoy a wildlife encounter at Wildlife HQ. Feeling hungry? We’re just a 3-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from Palmwoods train station. If you'd prefer, we’d be happy to arrange a pick-up for you—just let us know in advance. Enjoy your stay!



Getting Around:

By car: 1 hr flight to Brisbane

20 min drive to Sunshine Coast airport



By public transport: The train station is 3 min car ride from property

Bus from Brisbane or train

Uber and taxis available too



Other Things to Note:

- Mobile reception is good for Telstra

- No smoking allowed on the property

- No unregistered guests or visitors allowed

- An outdoor fire pit is available for your use

- Kindling and wood can be collected from around the farm

- Keep in mind that we have (3) dams on the property

- Fresh eggs and milk, tea and coffee are provided to guests

- Please be aware that we have free-roaming animals from 2:30-4:00 PM daily

- CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED due to 3 unfenced dams and farm animal hazards on-site

- If you’d like a campfire, you can bring firewood or you may purchase it from the service stations, if you’d rather not collect it. Some is provided for your use.



Important note:



- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs are possible if requested in advance.

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the compost toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
