Lovely property! Clean, quiet, and units are well provisioned. Facility is well organized and pleasant. Amenities met all our needs quite well. The staff was helpful in accommodating a change in our reservation. The staff was VERY friendly and professional. Shout out to everyone who helped us when our pet went missing. Cheyenne went above and beyond with her help and understanding. All ended well and the stay remained quit enjoyable.

Great room and views. Very close to downtown Clearwater Beach. We did not have to use our car other than going to the Phillies games. The 5th floor bar area was a pleasant surprise also. Walk to the beach was great.

The Good and Bad

There are some great things about The Avalon Club and some not so great things. I do not usually post reviews unless some thing is exceptional or terrible. In this case it has some good and bad. The Good Clean Nice rooms, especially for families and groups. Great Location The Bad The walls are paper thin. You can hear the next room quite easily and our neighbors at 2 am were having very engaging bedroom activities and it felt as though they were in the room with us. Obviously uncomfortable, especially with a family. We were on the third floor where the gym is located and you could clearly hear the thumping of someone running on the treadmill. When we asked to move rooms they were unsympathetic and seemed to be reading from a script and didn't even say "we will see what we can do". It was a flat no! The gym is only open from 9am-9pm for that reason. SO if you want to get an early morning workout, forget it. We asked for a later check out if possible and and again a flat no! No an hour later. Resort fee and a parking with tax add an additional $100 a day to your coat and feel like a cash grab. Hope this is helpful.

We enjoyed our stay. It was more of a condo than an hotel. Our place was spacious, clean and super close to the beach. They had chairs and umbrellas you could check out at the front desk and take with you to the beach. We enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely place! We would love to return to this resort for longer next time…super clean, newer resort with very friendly staff! Great views. Definitely a less busy area (which we loved) but a short walk to all the action. The provided chairs for the beach are a huge perk. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

I was hit with a 3 digit Surprise fee when I arrived after booking on Expedia. The fee was for "Parking and Resort Fee". I was unhappy with that. The check in guy went over a ton of stuff really fast, and as I am a northerner, I had a hard time with his accent. He mentioned the bar on the 5th floor. I went up there around 6pm the first night and there was no one there. It isn't exactly a full service bar. It's poolside, and has a limited selection based on what I saw displayed. The staff were all very friendly, and the place is clean. Room was huge. The door locks are unsafe in my opinion. There is no way to manually lock the room to keep out staff. If I were a woman traveler, I would be concerned about that. Also - They don't lock automatically when you leave the room. Which I didn't figure out until my last night there. The view from the balcony looks over a public parking lot, and then out to the ocean. There is a ton of city noise around this place as well. I would not recommend this place over one of the other bigger resorts if you are paying nearly the same price. So add in the 3 digit fee per night when you are pricing it out.

Not what it seems

Soulless apart-hotel that has large rooms. Otherwise it's not a very well thought out hotel with a lot of not well thought out decisions. A heated pool that isn't really heated. Want more toilet paper? Go downstairs to grab it. Thin walls. Elevators and hallways are way cooler than the lobby. One bedroom was way hotter than the other. Said they would send someone the next day but didn't. Coffee is free but really bad. Smart TVs but limited to a handful of apps (e.g. no YouTube, YouTube TV). Unfriendly customer service mostly due to the lack of people that work there. Just bad vibes all around.

Amazing property with friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. We tried to extend our stay because it was so nice. Definitely staying here on our next trip. 2bed 2bath with a full kitchen.

Perfect for families

We had a 4 night family stay. Had 2 bedroom suite. Great location, comfy beds, nice size rooms, right on the beach. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend We will visit again.

The property is very clean and we really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the availability of beach supplies (towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc..) however what really threw me off was the fact that the property was not as described. I booked a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and I ended up getting a 1 bedroom (and another room with a twin bed and no closet, which according to my dictionary that doesn’t count as a second bedroom) and we got a 1 and half bathroom (only one shower was available). The property management claimed that Expedia only allows 1 or 2 bathroom listings! This didn’t make any sense to me as such a thing could easily be called out in the property description or part of the multiple messages that the property sent to me before my check in. Another thing to watch out for, is that the property charges multiple fees on top of your base Expedia fee (parking and resort fees). I stayed in another Avalon in St. Pete’s that was a lot better.
