This was a lovely hotel for our UP and Mackinac Island adventures! We loved being right on the lakeshore, the breakfast buffet, nightly bonfires with s’mores, and the outdoor pool.

We had the best experience. The staff are helpful and accomodating. The amenities are great. The property is nice and clean. Would highly recommend. It’s a short drive to the boardwalk, restaurants, gas station and groceries. The boat dock going to the island is just a few minutes walk. They also offer shuttle service. This could be our go to place to stay whenever we go to Mackinac Island.

Sid the shuttle driver is a rock star! The room was dated but clean. Towels were subpar but fresh each day. Pool tile needs updating.

Great alternative to island stay

The hotel is located at the quieter side of town. It has the amenities of the Mackinac City but without all the traffic and commercial activities there. There are many restaurants around the area, shuttle to island ferry. It's located in front of the lake with daily breakfast included. There are 2 pools, indoor and outdoor. All in all, a very nice quiet stay befitting the ambiance of Mackinac.

Great staff! But Best Western has some work to do

The Good: This is a clean facility with welcoming staff. The grounds are well kept up, the pools are cleaned every morning. The breakfast staff does well with keeping food stocked, even during the busiest part of the morning. The rooms are clean and the hotel was quiet for our 3 day trip. The evening fire and smores are a nice touch every night. This hotel is close to the ferry to the island. So much so we just walked down to get on. (they do have a shuttle as well). They also have staff that will give you rides from building to building on a golf cart if so desired. The Bad: The staff does do a great job with keeping things cleaning and working. But this hotel is nearing a needed renovation. All the wall & nightstand outlets are worn out! (room388) This was tough only sharing a few outlets between 4 people. So much so, I went to town and bought a few power strips. The beds are horrible. Squeaky, lumpy, and just uncomfortable. If you're a gym rat, skip this place. The 1 treadmill has a mind of its own and th one cable machine is borderline unsafe with handles that are broke and sharp that could cut you if you're not careful. Also, If your room is on the south end of the property, and you drive a full size vehicle, I would suggest parking as far west as you can. This is a dead end parking lot and it pretty narrow. Not impossible but not fun to park in.

Stayed 2 nights with husband and 2 kids while visiting Mackinac Island. The hotel is an excellent location. While there is a free shuttle available to take you to one of the ferry docks, it is a quick 10 minute walk, so we walked there and back. There a few dining options and an ice cream shop nearby within walking distance as well, although most seem to close early in the evenings. The hotel is a collection of 4 hotel buildings (all named after the great lakes) and the Reception/pool building. We stayed at the Huron building with great lake views. The grounds are well kept. There is a lake access, bonfire pit where fires are lit every night from 8-10pm, a small playground and an outdoor pool with a hot tub. There is breakfast served in the mornings that was pretty well stocked with eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, as well as cereals, waffle makers and pastries, hot coffee and juices. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean. It was great to soak the sore muscles in the hot tub after biking more than 16 miles on the island. The room was fairly standard size, not very big, but it was clean. The little balcony was a nice addition although we didnt have much time to use it. Saturday night we were aboe to watch the firework show from the balcony. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

So the hotel is a motel style where all the doors are outside and you drive up to them. They have about 3 structures on the property that are the rooms. If you have more than one room they may be on a separate building like it was in my case. It's hard to see that when you book it online. That being said, i didn't mind it at all. The rooms where clean, breakfast was good and he view was incredible. We didn't feel unsafe and there are staff everywhere. They dint charge like a motel which means it doesn't attract unwanted guest but i could see where some might not care for that. Overall we had a great stay. One of the days was cloudy and we got to enjoy the indoor pool so our fun wasn't stopped. The ferry company we got to visit Mackinac Island was able to shuttle us from our hotel room. Super convenient! I have already recommended and i would definitely stay again.

Looking for a hotel to be on the lake, this sure did it. Room was large, about 20 feet from the water, and offered a view of Mackinac Island. It’s a large complex with different buildings, but easy enough to figure out. A golf cart runs around the property to give rides if the walk is too much. Staff were great too.

We were blown away by this Best Western! It was amazing!!! The property was huge and the amenities were awesome! The staff even brought s’mores to the fire pit for everyone!

Reported phone not working first night and again ne t morning. Never did get it fixed. Patio door wouldn’t lock. Breakfast only served until 9—should be 10 like most other places. Some staff didn’t seem to understand English.

The Huron room offers a beautiful view of the lake. Jacob, our cart person, was incredibly helpful, taking us back and forth to breakfast. The staff was also very helpful, and the entire place was clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Such a great hotel!

This hotel is so nice! Close to all the shops, food, and the ferry. It was very clean, the lakeview rooms were right on the lake. There is a community fire with s’mores every night. The outdoor pool seemed like it was heated. I would definitely stay here again!
