Poor management. Poor maintenance. First room I was given had nonfunctional lock. Second room had nonfunctional television. Despite complaint, it was not fixed during my stay. Water was seeping in beneath the bathroom wall. Bagged trash partially blocked outside exit door. A damaged junk car was parked just outside the exit door. Management has half the rooms leased to local government for homeless housing. Those residents are, at best, sketchy. This used to be a decent hotel. Choose another hotel.

Older property being remodeled rooms were dirty food was terrible no towels for 2 days at the pool only one table for the whole pool area to put your belongings.

Warning!!

This is not a hotel, this is a cover up for something else. People on drugs everywhere. People with habd guns flashing them behing the building kept circling my car. I cutt my loses didnt even stay i left. UNSAFE!! I swear choose the other lamp lighter not this one. Anything north springfield is bad there homeless and people on drugs everywhere. Stick to hotels in south springfield. You will have your car broken into and who knows at this hotel. The women that checked me in looked like the were teitching chewing nothing and there jaw was all over the place idk what they were on. Families stay away from here.

Lamplighter Review My husband, myself, our 17 year old and 16 month old daughter stayed here. There are a lot of loiterers, both around and in the hotel/motel. We were instructed to park in the back but it looked as if people were living out of their vehicles and possible the closed down rooms at the back of the motel so I chose to move our vehicle back to the front after we unpacked. I was catcalled and followed a short distance when I went back out to the car to move it. There were people talking in the hallway and knocking on doors (including ours) from 12-4am and one person even rattled our door knob. The hotel is under construction and it seems like the new owners are trying to clean it up, but right now it doesn’t seem like the safest place. We also found an old McDonald’s carry out sitting under our bed headboard that hadn’t been cleaned. My husband went to the continental breakfast the next morning and said people were stopping off the street to come in and eat it. He said there was no warm food except for waffles which a guy was standing in front of getting several servings of waffles. It is under construction so there are several areas blocked off with taped pieces of plastic. The hallways smell like marijuana and the beds are nothing more than a thin, uncomfortable mattress on a metal frame. We found cigarette burn holes in our blankets. Our room was not cleaned the first day so we put out the “maid service needed” sign and they still did not clean our room. We ha

Staff was friendly, room was clean. Had people that I assume lived there constantly hanging out in lobby which was awkward. Someone down the hall from room 212 had a dog that barked for the whole 2 days we was there. Looks like they are trying to renovate it into a nicer motel but the whole bunch of people that live there treating the motel like their living room is really strange. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Good for our needs!

We were just there for an overninght. Check-in was quick & easy, woman at desk was friendly enough & efficient. Room was clean & breakfast was eggs & sausage, yogurt & fruit (along with other choices). Walls a bit thin, but I slept great! Would stay again

After I checked in, I could not stay there

I did not feel comfortable staying there. There was a heavy smell of marijuana smoke throughout the building and smoking and people loading watering around outside the building with garbage cans, completely overfilled with garbage and on the ground.

Good price, location, hot tub, breakfast

I requested a handicapped room on the first floor and got exactly what I needed. The room was clean- especially the fridge and microwave so that was a huge plus. The indoor pool and hot tub was a nice feature. We didn't swim but we used the hot tub which was warm and bubbly. Get to the breakfast early for the best selection but there's lots to choose from. My only complaint (which is small) was you can hear thru the walls easily if there's dogs barking or kids crying but it was minor and didn't bother us. The area felt safe and the room had good locks. The price was similar to others in the area and I would stay here again for the location, hot tub, and breakfast.
