The desk chair (the only chair in the room) was old, squeaky and dirty. The elevator I used to access our room on the 4th floor had a problem. When pushing the button for the 4th floor, I had to push it repeatedly over and over for about 30 to 45 seconds before it would light up and begin ascending.

My stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Smithfield was overall disappointing. While the location was convenient and the staff was polite, the experience was negatively impacted by cleanliness concerns. Unfortunately, there was a roach in my room, which made the stay uncomfortable and did not meet the standards I expect from this brand. I hope this issue is addressed to improve the experience for future guests.
