Only .3 mile from camp grounds. When the family crawled into their tents, we turned on the heat, the Roku TV, and microwaved our dinner.

Clean beach type hotel

The property looks newly renovated and is very clean and without wear inside the rooms. The front desk was professional and efficient in getting us checked in. The a/c blew really cold on the bed next to it and there wasnt a blanket just sheets and a duvee. The room could also use a second waste bin although there was a larger waste recepticle in the walk way. Its about a 5 min drive to downtown Pismo Beach and about a 15 min walk to the Oceano beach. There is a market next door which is very convenient as well. If your main goal is to spend the day at the beach you can't beat this for the price and location.

Decent, but not great

This place was fine. The staff were all nice and they were helpful anytime we asked for something. The rooms were clean, the shower worked well, and it didn't smell like anything (a good thing!). However, it was so noisy. The place is right next to the main road and although we got there late, hoping there wouldn't be as much traffic, the fact is you can hear every door open or car door slam from the road or the liquor store next door. We thought perhaps the sound of the fan could drown out the noise, but the fan unfortunately (or fortunately for some) didn't make enough white noise to help. It did work well though in terms of cooling or heating. The front door is about 1/2"- 3/4" too small, so you can basically stick your finger to the outside, which is probably why it was so loud. And there was also no soap in the sink, you had to go to the shower for soap if you wanted to wash your hands. We picked this because it got good reviews and maybe the rooms facing away from the street are better, but those last minute choice for us was not one we would make again. We do appreciate the service and the staff, however it might be worth investing in some doors that fit and are soundproof, especially on the rooms facing the street.

I absolutely loved the newly renovated room and the location is to die for. I started having daydreams of wanting to live there because I loved the vibe and location a lot. The only unpleasant thing was that the doors seem to have to be forced/slammed in to the door frame in order to be shut and locked properly. As someone who has a pet peeve for slamming doors, this irked me and triggered my emotional response to thinking others are angry around me but quickly reminding myself that this was the nature of the whole building got me out of that emotional state pretty quickly. I definitely want to come back to stay again some day to enjoy it more because there were several things I wanted to do but didn’t get to because of prioritizing errands/needs over leisure/recreation. Overall I am thankful for the opportunity to even stumble across the area and experience it! I would definitley recommend, I almost wanted to forgo reviewing to gatekeep it from the public but the staff was also very friendly and kind that I want to make sure they have steady business for years to come.
