MOUNTAIN TOP GETAWAY : Best View In SLO! : Pets welcome
MAKING MEMORIES WITH AN UNFORGETTABLE VIEW !
The "Irish Hills House" at the top of Prefumo Canyon has the Best View in SLO with stunning 180-degree panoramas stretching from ocean, valley, mountain and cityscape. The view is famous and tourists and locals alike stop at the vista point turn off. The Irish Hills House is above the Prefumo vista point, at the top of the mountain and has a fantastic view!
Our pet friendly vacation rental is conveniently located to 15 minutes to SLO (DT and Cal Poly), 15 minutes to the ocean (Avila Beach) and half way between LA & SF. We are near wonderful activities, wineries and experiences.
The most common guest comment, "The photos do not do the views justice!". You can get to know the property at @bourbonandcider (your four legged Golden Retriever Assistant Hosts) and @visitvista (the official IG) - we post daily!
Irish Hills House has two bedrooms upstairs with dormer ceilings, one is small with a floor queen bed, ideal for children or a short adult. The other bedroom has two queen beds. In addition, there is a king bed downstairs (not private) in the common living area. The space can accommodate 8.

We store two additional queen size futons and a 'Pack n' Play' for babies. There are bathrooms on each level, a fully outfitted kitchen and a large outdoor deck. There are great views from every window. Fully equipped kitchen for family dining. I think the kitchen window must have one of the best views ever for washing dishes! :)
We are on the famous Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy. 1). The coastal retreat halfway between LA and SF. Our road (Prefumo Canyon) turns into See Canyon and leads to Avila Beach. There is a short 15 minute scenic drive to downtown SLO (Thursday Night Farmer’s Market, restaurants, nightlife etc.) and beautiful Avila Beach (spectacular beach, pier, shops, wineries, etc). Famous Avila and Sycamore Mineral Springs offer a therapeutic experience in a group setting or privately in secluded tubs set amongst the tree-canopied hillside. You are in a serene and peaceful setting, but not too far from all the action!
We are on 8 mountain top acres with world class views, hikes and wildlife right outside your door. Barbecue, share a meal and wine on the deck or picnic down by the raised garden beds. We invite our guests to enjoy fresh vegetables and eggs from the gardens and henhouse, so help yourself! In addition to our chickens, we have a pet tortoise named 'Walter' (Everyone loves Walter) and a Koi Pond in front of the Irish Hills House. We have recently created a Botanical Nature Walk with a Morro Bay lookout bench and a tranquil area amongst our succulent gardens.
The vacation rental is well suited to romantic & girls getaways, family friendly & Cal Poly parents stays, adventure seekers & coastal journeys. We love dogs here!
This is a dedicated VRBO, which is professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival with clean and fresh, sheets and towels. The house is maintained in pristine condition in preparation to offer a 'hotel-clean' experience amongst breathtaking mountain-top views in nature and tranquility.
The Irish Hills House is across a deck from our main home. We respect boundaries and the experience is intimate and free of distraction.
We run at almost full occupancy, so if you see an opening and you are ready - please feel free to Instant book! Also, please feel free to follow up with any questions - none are silly :)!

What an amazing stay. Ryan was so friendly and welcoming, and it was clear from the start how knowledgeable and thoughtful he is. He has two awesome dogs, Bourbon and Cider -- my teens absolutely fell in love with them!! Let's not forget about the Tortoise 3 Ryan's home is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly situated with an incredible view of San Luis Obispo — the kind of view you don’t forget. Our only regret is staying one night. Do yourself a favor and book at least two!! We loved every minute and would absolutely stay again. Ryan (aka buddy, lol), thank you so much for an incredible stay full of laughs and memories. I hope our paths cross again someday!

We already miss being at this property! The location is otherworldly. The house is perfect- our family of 4, plus a pup, was so cozy in the well-designed space (and the beds are all crazy comfortable). We liked walking the property, petting Walter, saying hi to the chickens, and cooking dinner in the kitchen with a big window overlooking Morro Bay. The house is a short drive from anything you could want or need, plenty of different coastal and mountain spots, iconic destinations. Ryan is a wonderful person, great host, and our family really enjoyed meeting him. He was welcoming, helpful, and made us feel like old friends. We love Bourbon and Cider!

A truly amazing experience! The views are absolutely stunning and unable to put into words. The host is extremely accommodating and someone you immediately feel like you have known for years. Bourbon and Cider are the only thing that make you take your eyes off the endless views. They are the sweetest dogs you will ever meet! From one Ryan to another, thank you for sharing your slice of heaven. It's a forever memory for sure, thank you!

Immensely relaxing and enchanting. The views were spectacular. It reminded us of Europes hills. Very lush and green. We could see the volcano mountains and the ocean once the fog left. The place was very spacious. The living area was set up like a studio with bed, living and dining in one large room, kitchen separate, with two additional rooms upstairs. There is no AC but wasn’t need in the studio area once we opened windows. There were chickens and Walter the turtle. The drive up was about 20 minutes from SLO and well worth it. We visited the SLO Mission ate at Feral, drove to Morro Bay for whale watching, ate at Avila Beach Mersea’s, sat out on the rentals shared balcony patio and watched stars, went to see Durand Jones at Madonna Inn Expo. The place is attached to another rental and to the owner, but lots of privacy. The owner Ryan and his fur babes Bourbon and Cider were kind and thoughtful hosts.

This is an epic scenic view. You get Los Osos, Morro Rock and the Stacks in the background of rolling coastal hills. I can see why it’s called Irish Hills with those views. We are very familiar with Morro area but because of the view we were drawn to go see all of it. We went to beaches on the way to Montana de Oro, experienced Baywood and stopped for a cocktail at Dorn’s.Another great opportunity to go wine tasting at Kelsey’s winery. We found out that you can easily travel there without getting on busy roads. Prefumo to See Canyon road is a short 20 minute drive with amazing foliage and more epic views.Everything at Irish Hill House was clean and roomy. They have beautiful decor and comfortable beds.Ryan is super nice and helpful. The entire welcoming staff (Ryan, Bourbon, Cider and Walter) made use right at home. We will be back.

We had a wonderful time on Ryan's property! Perfect location with gorgeous views atop the ridgeline. We could see Morro Bay on one side and SLO on the other. The location was a perfect distance from local hikes (Avila Ridge & Mt Madonna) and downtown SLO where we went to the local farmers market and had dinner out one of the nights. But as much as possible we stayed on the property to enjoy the beautiful views and comfortable accommodations. A return visit is definitely on our mind.
The view is amazing - views of rolling green hills, Morro Bay, and ocean. Loved Cider & Bourbon and Walter. Ryan’s hospitality is awesome. Fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable stay and really convenient location to visit SLO, Avila Beach, Morro Bay, and Pismo.

Ryan was charming and very attentive. It was our first time staying on a property where the host resided in another home close by. He and the dogs were so welcoming and helpful with ideas of places to go that were pet friendly. Loved the views and our three goldens made new best friends with Cinder and Bourbon. The driving instructions were beyond appreciated. It’s secluded-ish, but so gorgeous. We also brought one more car than we anticipated but the host was able to accommodate, which was great! We were able to see a bit of the scenery despite the rain, but even the cloud bank was spectacular. There was ample space inside and was just ultimately so cozy! (Side comment, we saw a rainbow as we were checking out and it was a beautiful way to end our stay).
