NOTE:
BEACH / TRAIL ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
The city is currently enhancing the trail at the base of the path shown in the photo, so this access point is temporarily inaccessible. Rates are discounted as such. The alternate route is only an 8-minute walk to the trail/beach. Please keep reading for details...
Your OCEAN VIEWS FROM THE UNIT AND DECK REMAIN EXACTLY THE SAME—an ever-changing skyline that defines the experience here. Whether you’re relaxing inside and gazing out toward the horizon, or stepping onto the private deck reserved just for you, the view is captivating. Enjoy your morning coffee with the sound of surf, or watch dolphins drift by as the sun sets over the water, while grilling on the BBQ.
In the meantime, WALKING access to the beach and beach trail is available through several nearby entry points. The Linda Lane Beach access point, just a leisurely 8-minute walk away, is a guest favorite—and for good reason. This route offers a gentler, less steep path to the sand and trail, and places you even closer to the pier and the iconic Fisherman’s Restaurant, making it a convenient alternative.
SPACE
Experience coastal living with a touch of Mediterranean style. Step out to your private deck to take in the ocean view, or fire up the BBQ for your seaside meal. Head inside to a space inspired by a modern Greek villa, featuring white porcelain floors, a real white leather sofa and subtle blue accents, reminiscent of the Aegean sea. The open layout allows the family room to flow into the kitchen, creating a comfortable place to cook and relax together. Ocean breezes and a mix of ceiling and portable fans keep the space cool and comfortable throughout your stay. In the evenings, unwind by the fireplace while enjoying your favorite shows on the smart TV, or relax on your deck with your favorite beverage.
NEIGHBORHOOD
We are set in a friendly, laid-back neighborhood just north of the Pier Bowl area, where you'll blend in with locals. This location offers a retreat away from the congested and loud, tourist-filled areas—yet it’s close enough to walk to the pier and beach, or to downtown boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses and cafes, anytime you like.
KITCHEN
The custom kitchen with beautiful walnut cabinets is well-equipped with quality appliances and amenities, including a dishwasher, microwave and range with convection oven, etc. You’ll find what you need to cook with ease—pots/pans, drip coffee maker/filters, spices, paper goods, cleaning supplies and food storage essentials. Enjoy your meals on the beautiful Eucalyptus table, a perfect spot to dine and unwind, and the table also doubles as a perfect work space if needed.
BEDROOM
The bedroom is a welcoming retreat designed with your comfort in mind. It features a king-sized bed with a medium-firm (3 out of 4) rated mattress, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. A large window fills the room with natural light and welcomes in ocean breezes. Blackout curtains ensure you can sleep in peacefully. The bedroom also offers direct access to the bathroom for added convenience. A spacious, mirror-lined closet is perfect for storage and makes it easy to confirm you’re lookin' good. The six-drawer dresser further enhances the available storage space. Each side of the bed includes a nightstand with a reading light, and convenient USB and USB-C charging ports for your devices. Luggage racks provided add extra convenience and help to keep things tidy. For quiet evenings, relax in bed and enjoy a movie on the smart TV, or don one of the plush robes from the closet and head back to the deck to be lulled by the sound of waves.
BATH
The Greek-inspired bathroom features white pebble floors and an easy walk-in shower. A double-sink vanity provides plenty of space and convenience when sharing the bath, while a lighted, magnified makeup mirror makes it easy to get ready with precision. Designed in a Jack & Jill style, the bath offers convenient access from both the bedroom and the family room.
COMPLIMENTARY LAUNDRY
Our complimentary on-site laundry is just a quick 5-second stroll from your front door, with two washers and two dryers that are nearly always available - plus free detergent - so you can keep your clothing and towels feeling fresh all vacation long. While we don’t offer daily housekeeping, you’re welcome to toss in a load whenever you like. If you prefer, we can happily arrange housekeeping during your stay for an additional fee.
And since sandy toes are part of the fun, there’s a hose station just around the corner from the laundry room - perfect for rinsing off beach gear and yourself before heading back inside.
BEACH - note the comment above about current beach access:
Guests enjoy complimentary beach gear, including a surfboard, body boards, beach chairs and towels, and an umbrella—everything needed for a perfect day by the water.
The beach is ideal for sunbathing, people watching, relaxing, reading, swimming, surfing, bodyboarding, fishing, and stand-up paddling. The waves break over a small reef directly in front, with the best surfing conditions typically found at a medium rising tide. Several other surf breaks are within a short walking distance, including the renowned T-Street Beach. World-class surfing at San Onofre and Trestles—officially the home of the 2028 Olympic surfing contest—is just a 10-minute drive south.
At low tide, the reef reveals a vibrant tide pool ecosystem, featuring starfish, sea anemones, sea urchins, mussels, snails, and more - perfect for curious explorers.
SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
Just a few blocks from Casa Mariposa, you’ll find a charming downtown area filled with stylish boutiques, surf shops, antique stores, and a diverse range of local and international dining options. Every Sunday, the Farmer’s Market brings the community together with stalls featuring unique souvenirs, local art, and freshly harvested organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. A short stroll will take you to the pier, where you can soak up the sun and ocean breeze, try your hand at fishing, or unwind with a meal at the beloved Fisherman’s Restaurant.
WHY SAN CLEMENTE VS OTHER LOCATIONS?
Many travelers fall in love with San Clemente’s quaint, small-town charm - the kind that’s hard to find in nearby coastal cities. Unlike the busier scenes of Dana Point and Laguna Beach, San Clemente has a true heart and soul, where you can stroll to local shops, grab dinner at family-owned restaurants, and actually feel part of the community. Dana Point, Laguna Beach & San Juan Capistrano are just a few minutes’ drive away, perfect for day trips to explore their attractions. After, head back to San Clemente to unwind in a more relaxed, authentic, small beach-town atmosphere.
DAILY ADVENTURES NEARBY
San Clemente enjoys a perfect location halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles—each about an hour’s drive away. Disneyland is just 30 minutes up the road, making day trips to these iconic destinations easy and convenient. Both cities are accessible via a short walk to the train station, so you can explore during the day and return home for a refreshing swim.
• Popular theme parks such as Disneyland, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Legoland are all within an hour’s drive.
• San Clemente’s newly opened Aquatic Center features an Olympic-sized pool and a fun “Aquatic Playground” designed especially for children.
• Dana Point Harbor, just a 10-minute drive north, offers a variety of shopping, dining, and deep-sea fishing opportunities. You can also rent kayaks, jet skis, and sailboats, or take a scenic boat ride to Catalina Island—be sure to book tickets well in advance, especially during summer.
• Nearby Laguna Beach is famous for its stunning coastline, vibrant galleries, art festivals, and the annual Pageant of the Masters held in July.
• Big Bear Ski Resort is a two-hour drive away, making it a perfect destination for a day trip or overnight getaway.
• For a relaxed coastal journey, hop on the “Surfliner Amtrak” train from the pier and enjoy a scenic, one-hour ride to San Diego, Del Mar Race Track, or Petco Park. Heading north, you can reach Angel Stadium with ease.
• Day-trip to Temecula’s Wine country.
• Explore historical San Juan Capistrano’s Mission; a 10 minute’s drive north
