It was hotels.com screw up--not the hotel! Three days before my trip, I asked online for the dates I was checking in and out to be adjusted--the next day I got an email from hotels.com saying the hotel agreed to the change and it was done, and I even got a confirmation email. However, when I got to the hotel, they still had the original dates! They accessed the reservation via Expedia and discovered that the "virtual card" issued for my payment would not be valid until the next day! I showed the clerk the confirmation email hotels.com had sent me, but without the "virtual card" he could not check me in. He spent over 45 minutes on the phone with a hotels.com agent and it finally got straightened out. I am most displeased with hotels.com--NOT the hotel.
