We stayed for 5 nights in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with one car space and a poolside view. The rooms were relatively clean and well-equipped, which made our stay comfortable. Our 3- and 5-year-olds absolutely loved the pool, and we really enjoyed the convenient location—everything we needed was within walking distance. The water pressure was also excellent. There are just a few areas that could be improved. Some of the kitchen utensils, including the frypan, cutlery, and microwave, could use replacing, as we had some difficulty cooking simple meals like pancakes and eggs. The dryer could also benefit from a thorough clean or replacement, as there was a noticeable build-up of lint and dirt inside the door. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay. The BBQ area was a nice bonus, and the reception staff were friendly. We would be happy to return in the future.

The property is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The mattresses are old and uncomfortable which caused a back pain. There is a construction going on which is very noisy and starts around 6:30 -7 am and it wasn’t mentioned until we booked and paid then received an email which was a bit unfair, it was noisy since we were given the unit right opposite to it but other than that everything was good.

The team at reception wete great and very helpful. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 was that the TV channels were very slow and at time had no reception at all. The pay for view channels were poor and the local channels ABC, 7, 9, 10 were not much better. Beautiful place to stay though. 🙏👍🙂

Room was nice and big and very spacious. A very Comfortable longe Pool was lots of fun and a good size too Close walking distance to shops And marina. The only down side was the view as the top end of building is now completely blocked by a new high rise apartment being built it from of it. (Luckily I got a cheap price for room on Wotif as if I had had to pay the normal price I definitely wouldn’t have been happy and would have asked for another apartment)

Was pretty average, for what we spent i didnt feel i got value for money. Room was quite smelly, dishwasher smelt like fish, blinds were mouldy and my reservation was changed without any communication seperating me and my sister which made the stay distressing and frustrating

The room was very very dirty. Rooms are not maintained and there are food crumbles left by previous customers. We can understand we arrive at a public holiday day but this is not an excuse for the lack of very basic quality of a service product. I am really disappointed for this place.

Our stay at the Mantra Aqua in Nelson Bay felt like an absolute scam.We had booked two nights in a superior resort view room and what we got was a neglected,dirty,grimy and mouldy appartment that overlooked a construction site. We were shocked that this apartment is even rented out as it had so much wrong with it. To top it off,our balcony sat right over the communal smoko corner for staff and residents so none of the ‘we are a smoke free complex’…unbelievable. When approached about the state of the apartment,staff responded that ‘the photos on our website are only indicative and perhaps next time we should not book with Wotif,but with them directly so they can give us a room that is more to our taste’,go figure…We are absolutely appalled by what happened to us-please read this before you book as we are sure this is a known issue with resort staff. We feel betrayed and scammed and would never stay at the Mantra Aqua again!!!

Fantastic location easy walk to everything with undercover parking. Great clean apartment, though looking a little tired, could do with minor upgrades. Comfortable bed. We had a pool view balcony, it’s worth consider special request if you prefer morning or afternoon sun on your balcony. Only downside was being top floor the balcony had no roof & no shade in daytime. Pool lovely & spa warm. Staff friendly & helpful

Apartment was large but fridge seal was broken, room remote was broken and ceiling fan in main bedroom didn’t work. Second bathroom was also smelly. Seem like some easy fixes could have been made to make the apartment much more pleasant.
