Hotels on the River in Playa del Carmen

We just got back with a group of 8 including two kids (16 and 8 ) 😎We love it! We are not RE, just normal green bracelets. Day of the dead celebration was PHENOMENAL. Shows are great! Food is not bad, better than lots of restaurants in Florida. Lol. BUT, we are here for experience. We see tons of animals every single day. Coatis are everywhere! Spider monkeys plentiful! Massages on the beach? Heaven. ( we did two and the Mayan one literally put me in a deep sleep complete with drool. lol). Deep tissue my daughter said was the best one she has ever had! ( $60 each). Walking is definitely a thing, but the way I look at it? Lets me eat an extra dessert! 😂. We are already planning a trip here in February for just my husband and myself. The beach is not a traditional see in postcard aqua blue, crashing waves beach, but it’s still nice! Swimming in cenote was a super fun experience. So, bottom line I guess, is if you are looking for a fancy 5 star resort, with filet mignon, it is probably not for you. If you are looking to find adventure and really enjoy nature, the local people ( employees are fabulous), this is a great spot ❤️

Specialty restaurants were great, buffet was OK. Enjoyed the main pool and cabana bar at North Beach

The food was excellent, that layout is simple to understand once you take a walk around. Definitely try the al a carte restaurants. The swim out suite is awesome and the staff are very helpful. It was a great vacation.
