Beautiful historic hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s perfectly located in the middle of the city. We would absolutely stay there again if we return to Pittsburgh.

Say away from the Omni while in Pittsburgh

Awful from arrival. Room bedding didn’t appear to have been updated in years. Bathroom small and dingy and towels were like paper towels. Virtually little light in room. No full length mirror. Room service only offered for breakfast. Main hotel restaurants and lobby were closed to guests during our stay so hotel could make money renting it out for filming. No advance notice was given or any special make up credit. We ate in the Tap Room and food was terrible. Some of which was stale and had to be sent back. At over $525/night + taxes we were expecting a basic level of quality - also given the Omni brand. Total disappointment and would never stay here again. Hotel was shabby and attitude of all staff , especially the valet and bellmen was rude at best.

When we checked in the we noticed the room was extremely hot. They came to fix the problem and declared the it was fixed. But it wasn’t. We call to have it fixed again and they sent a repair person. Again they declared it to be fixed. But it wasn’t. The was very hot in the room and impossible to get a good night sleep. We asked for a new room but they said they were booked so no new room. The front desk said they would make an adjustment on the bill but they never did.

My biggest complaint about my stay was the noise outside the hotel at night. We had driven 11 hours from Boston and I was extremely tired. We live in Boston, so it's not like I'm not used to city noise, but this was insane. It was full on construction outside our window the entire evening both nights. It was a $500 room. When I inquired at the front desk in my sleepless state, the man at the front desk told me that they don't tell them when there's going to be construction so they don't tell guests. I had to research the NFL draft coming next year to Pittsburgh to learn that it is in a "construction boom" and that residential areas have noises ordinaces but the downtown is exempt. I would like to have known this from the hotel before booking. It would have explained and normalized the experience while giving guests ample warning to plan ahead for sound cancelling options or not booking entirely. It felt really tacky. Front desk did offer to move us but my husband was asleep and it was 3am. Not a good option at all. I didn't sleep at all the first night. We parked off-site so it was somewhat inconvenient. We paid for internet and we ate, exhausted, the first night at the Tap Room. It got the job done but the chips definitely tasted like they were fried in dirty oil. I didn't touch them. Staff at Mellon Square Coffee were extremely nice but everyone else seemed really pissed off to be there and to be helping you with anything. Definitely a hands off, rough approach.

The hotel looks beautiful, almost from a different era. Staff is friendly. Patking is ok, but not part of the hotel, easy though. My only one dislike was that my room did not have proper ventilation. Windows were shut, and as a result, the room smelled like a sweaty gym! Not great. Other than that, it was a good experience

I loved the historic elegance of the William Penn and the top-notch service. With its comfortable sitting chair and soft, thick carpet, my room was an oasis to return to after a busy day. And the parking lot was located conveniently across the street. Easily my favorite Pittsburgh hotel to date.

Nice weekend getaway

Took a long weekend to take in some baseball. We typically stay at the William Penn. A great hotel. Centrally located in downtown Pittsburgh. We have been back since before Covid. The lobby is still beautiful. Rooms could use some updating. Mattress was comfortable. Pillows are awful. Bathroom was small and tight. Toilet flushed but not well. Shower/tub drained slowly.
