Despite being a 3-star hotel, this hotel genuinely felt like a 4-star hotel due to the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, and the quality and design of the rooms, this was a much better hotel than a lot of 4-star hotels we have stayed in Paris before

The location was excellent for visiting the Louvre, the Orsay, and even Notre Dame. The staff was outstanding -- very helpful in both French and English. There was a functional lift, which was a bonus. The rooms themselves were quite simple. I would consider them larger than many European rooms. But they were very dark, with few plugs for phones and appliances. The floor is uneven, as can be expected in old buildings. But the bed in one of our rooms was also quite uneven, suggesting the need for a new mattress or frame. The hotel lost hot water while we were there. It was restored later the same day. The bathroom was devoid of any plug except for a razor. And the mounted hair dryer had seen better days. There is no on-site bar or restaurant. But staff recommendations nearby were excellent. Overall, the hotel was functional. But it would benefit from some updates and amenities.

NYE 2024 Stay

Our stay was from Dec 31mtomJan 4. We had an issue with the heating in the room (room 1) and was only sorted a couple of days due to the holiday. Despite this, we had a very pleasant stay. The breakfast and the service at breakfast was more than what you would expect from a 3 star! The gentleman in charge of the service was efficient, helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is in one of the very chic neighborhoods - restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The hotel’s small courtyard is also very pleasant. Will definitely be back.

I have been staying at the Hotel du Danube for several years, but this will be my last time. I love the location and the staff was terrific. However, the condition of the building had seriously deteriorated since I was last there. Rotting windows which did not open or close, the bathroom heater which did not work at all along with the absurdly small room made my stay less than ideal. For the amount of money I spent there, I feel these things should not have been issues. To the to the higher administration and owners of the building, I say good luck staying open.

My daughter (16yo) and I had a great time at this hotel when we stayed for one week in August 2024. It was very central to everything, like the Louvre and Notre Dame (both walking distance). The staff was very kind and attentive. When we arrived we found they had upgraded us to a very large room, which was so comfortable. There are several good restaurants nearby. Highly recommend. We would stay there again.

The staff at this property were excellent: they were friendly, kind and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, with plenty of space for our belongings. We loved the area; the little cafe next door was convenient and we enjoyed interacting with the staff there, as well. The area felt very safe, with. Monoprix only a 5-minute walk away, and we were within walking distance to many of our favourite spots in Paris, including the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Musée ‘Orsay, the Louvre, Notre Dame, Saint Sulpice the Tuileries. The breakfast was a standard continental breakfast with extras like ham, cheese, cereal, fresh fruit and eggs, so good value for money. We’ll definitely stay there again.
