I was excited to stay at the Dutch Hotel in Long Island. Unfortunately, the night before my trip, I severely sprained my ankle and ended up in the emergency room at 2 a.m., just seven hours before my flight from Los Angeles to New York.
I contacted Hotels.com platform immediately and provided documentation regarding the situation, hoping the hotel might offer some flexibility or a future stay credit.
Unfortunately, my request was denied, which was disappointing given the circumstances. While I cannot comment on the hotel accommodations themselves, I do wish there had been more understanding and compassion regarding the situation.
A very unfortunate experience overall.
