Booked an ocean front balcony room. I got a balcony but it was only about 12 inches long. I could not go outside and close the door. I’ve never seen a balcony room like this.

Good place for the money.... the worst part was the neighbors with apparent adjoining rooms with their children who screamed all hours a the oarents screamed back ! If that wasn't distracting the guests below us smoked so much non tobacco product ...I fear I got a contact buzz !! Not the best place for a family vacation with teenagers... pool was always packed with either adults or really littles ... not much interactions with staff but they were respectful and responsive when needed.

Beds were very uncomfortable, there were pool rules posted that were not upheld by management nor followed, mainly large splashes, room carpet not cleaned adequately, food crumbs around bed.

This property is not what they advertise. This was my first time in Myrtle beach, lesson learned. Our room was filthy with black dirt on the floors in the corners, the shower was cracked with holes in it, the shower also had plaster coming away from the ceiling. The bathroom cabinets were broken. We ran out of toilet paper as we were literally given one roll. I found used rags in the shower on the first day. It took 8 hours for housekeeping to take the garbage from out front of the door of my room. They took the towels and never brought new ones. The room had a broken sliding door that didn't really close all the way. The beds were sketchy and had a damp feeling so we slept on our towels with blankets we bought from the boardwalk. The lobby is dirty. Now on to the pool, the pool is pretty dirty and loaded with chemicals so you can see white film in it. The hot tub had hair weave extensions or dread locks floating in it. The floor was loaded with boiled peanut shells so you had to watch your feet like you would if you were in prison to avoid infection and cuts. The staff was a combination of friendly and rude. Forgot to mention, they don't tell you the rooms have doors that connect to other rooms so be aware. Our neighbor next to us was high the entire time which smoked our room out so we smelled like weed everywhere we went and it was embarrassing. The chairs in the rooms are so dirty you don't really wanna sit in them. Just don't stay here. Would not recommend

Overall it was nice, good location, the music from ocean annies was very loud from the room at night which didn't bother us but if someone had a baby it would 100% affect the stay. The room/bathroom were not cleaned well. Seemed like someone just threw blankets on the beds, and trash away from the last stay so it looked "clean". Mold in the bathroom. Also we were on the 5th floor and there was no lock on our sliding glass door to the balcony. Again someone with a younger kid this would be enough to have to move somewhere else

Overall the place is very clean and great location. Staff is friendly and mostly helpful. I think an earlier check in time would be good and continental breakfast. However, I would definitely recommend Sands to anyone traveling to Myrtle Beach and will return soon!
