the hotel and rooms were run down, dirty vents, hole in the wall behind the trash can, no breakfast of any kind, the 24 hour restaurant stayed closed 24 hours. not bad for $150 a night, but could have been better.

The pros: great location on the beach, friendly staff, clean room and bathroom. Close to boardwalk area and they had a hot tub. The cons: the area where the hotel supposed to be sketchy according to locals. I had no issues walking around but saw a few homeless mulling about and one dude definitely on meth. More motel rather than hotel feel. Property is dated, the bathroom is tiny, cheap towels and furniture needs replacing and the king bed was good enough. Overall I give this place a solid 2.75. A decent value for budget conscious travelers but if you can afford it stay 10 blocs more north. I had no problem as a single male. My needs were minimal. So if you're young, on a budget and want a place near the beach and don't need all the appointments and amenities of a better hotel this place is for you. Its got the basics- great location, clean room and a bathroom. If you need more stay someplace else.

Our room was impeccably clean, the fridge, microwave spotless and the bathroom seemed renovated. The view of the ocean is amazing. The staff at checkin are friendly, helpful and professional and the free parking in the lots across the street is well lit . You just have to keep an open mind when you first walk in to this (older) hotel which has no lobby, just the tiny checkin counter and a vending machine and the corridors and elevator could use some fresh paint. But then you’ll be amazed by the clean renovated room and the $ value was excellent.
