The location is conveniently located close to the DE sports complex. The house itself is very spacious, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Multiple large decks with great views. Very close to a beach. That said, renters should be aware of one important issue: the only access road to the property is prone to flooding during high tides. This can make getting in and out at certain times impossible and dangerous, so definitely plan ahead and check tide schedules. We found this very inconvenient while attending a sports tournament with many games at different times. More importantly, it felt unsafe. I’m not sure how an emergency vehicle could access this home in an emergency during high tide. This issue is something that needs to be disclosed in the listing. I drive an SUV and the water was too deep for me to safely pass for a few hours around high tides. One night we had to wait over two hours past high tide to attempt to drive down the road and the water was so deep it came over my hood. This section that floods is long and doesn’t have street lights so accessing it at night during flooding is extremely scary. The host did not seem concerned with the flooding and recommended we drive slowly. I understand this flooding has many contributing factors outside of her control but this is something renters should be aware of at the time of booking. In summary, it’s a comfortable, well-located property, but the flooding road is something to keep in mind when booking.
