My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Sonesta Ocean Point Resort! You can’t beat the location, with Maho & Mullet Bay beach right there, planes constantly landing, and all around beautiful views, the location of this property is unmatched! If I could make a few suggestions to make this resort even better, I would say: 1. Improve and expand air conditioning throughout the resort. We had many dinners where there was no air conditioning and we were extremely hot. Luckily there’s a nice breeze but I would definitely suggest adding air conditioning inside the restaurants and main lobby for better comfort! We also had an issue with our room not getting cold enough but when we told the front desk they sent someone to fix it right away! 2. Service was 50/50, much better on the Ocean Point side. Everyone at Azul and Portofino was spectacular, bartenders Cheryl and Damian were incredible as well. They definitely love their job and deserve all the recognition. However, we did have some bad interactions with bartenders on the Maho side, I didn’t get their names but they were clearly unhappy and it felt like an inconvenience whenever we asked for a drink. Besides those few bad interactions, everyone else was friendly. Overall, we found the Ocean Point side to have MUCH better food and service. If you are looking to stay here definitely spend a little extra because it’s so worth it! Thank you Sonesta for this amazing trip, we would definitely come back! 🙂

Property was gorgeous, food at the restaurants we tried was amazing and the staff was super friendly! Only two complaints I have are, there is no ATM on the property and the one that is within walking distance charges a fee of $10 every time you need to use it (and you will need to use it a lot if you don’t rent a car because the taxis only take cash.) My second complaint being the guests from the other side (Maho) kept trying to sneak over and use our amenities because there is no separation between the two resorts. Security was always kicking someone out of our designated pools. Other than that, my trip was AMAZING! Would definitely book again.

Book it! Came for 5 days (Wed-Sun) with my fiancé, we had a great time! Property, service, amenities, room and restaurants/ food were excellent! This resort is on the adults only side is a lot more quiet, relaxed and classy. If you are looking for something more lively with entertainment on the property, maybe look elsewhere. The events they had during the evening were pretty lame and didn't draw much of a crowd at all. It was fine though because we just wanted to eat, relax, and enjoy the weather. Check out We Lounge right outside the resort if you are looking for some nightlife. Very close and safe. It doesn't get lively until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We booked a day pass at Kalatua which is a upscale restaurant that has access to beach chairs/ cabanas that you can rent for $50-70 for the day (12pm - 5:30pm). Comes with 2 chairs and umbrella. It was so relaxing and beach (Mullet Beach) was amazing and so was the food, service and vibe. It’s a MUST DO if you visit the island. It was really nice to change it up for a day and have some different food and hangout at a beautiful beach. Nothing but great things to say about the resort and experience we had. 10/10. Last thing, airport is super close! I booked a ride both ways using Nexus Tours it was $20 each way and takes about 4-7min. If you are looking to have an enjoyable vacation filled with great views, beautiful beaches, great food and service. Look nowhere else!

This property was horrible. My husband and I checked in and I am six months pregnant. We got there at 12 PM and they said the room will not be ready until 4 PM. We then waited in the lobby where there was no air conditioning, flies and bugs all over the place. We were talking to a couple that stayed there and said that they found a roach in their room and they were waiting to be moved to a different room. We told the front desk that we are going to get a different hotel because of the cleanliness and what we just heard. She said to contact Expedia for a refund. When we called, we got no refund and they told us that they will not be refunding us. We left this property and went to the Marriott hotel, where it was beautiful. The service was amazing and it was very clean. Opposite from this hotel, this hotel was disgusting and dirty.

SUCH AN AMAZING PROPERTY! I DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK AND STAY ON THE ADULT ONLY SIDE AGAIN! THE WAITER(S) NAMED CARLOS, CHES-TER, FRANKIE, ANGELICA, DIANE WAS ALL ATTENTIVE AND GREAT! AS WELL AS KINRON FROM ROOM SERVICE, OUR HOUSEKEEPER, AND EVEN THE SECURITY GUARDS (TOO MANY TO NAME LOL)! I DO LOVE THE FACT THAT THE SECURITY GUARDS ARE ON POINT WHEN THE PEOPLE FROM THE FAMILY FRIENDLY SIDE TRY TO COME TO OUR SIDE BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T PAY THE PRICE WE DID SO THEY ABSOLUTELY SHOULDN’T BE ON OUR SIDE!!!

My wife and I had an amazing stay at Sonesta Ocean Point Adults Only! The resort was peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We spent most of our time at Azul, which served the best food we’ve ever had at a resort—especially breakfast and dinner with ocean views and outstanding service. The adults-only side felt like a completely different world compared to the family side—calm, never crowded, and ideal for couples. We visited the family side for lunch at the buffet (which was great), but always ate back on the quiet side. Entertainment was fun and engaging, and Maho Beach right next door was a highlight. Watching the planes fly in low was unforgettable—check the SXM Airport site for arrival times. We took a 4-wheeler tour with Blue Bubbles—highly recommend! Staff across the resort were friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. Only small cons: the in-room liquor was low quality, and we wish they played more Soca music. Unfortunately, some loud guests arrived on our last day, but that didn’t take away from our overall experience. Solid 5/5, and we’ll definitely be back next time with friends!
