No power or hot water

My boyfriend and I had been traveling on planes for two days and decided that we could spring for a hotel for one night. Boy was this hotel a mistake. We got in a few hours after check-in time. The man at the front desk checked us in then decided to tell us there was no power and no hot water. He did not seem apologetic at all. After traveling for that long all we wanted was a nice hot shower before heading out and seeing London. We got upstairs and the room was fine aside from the bathroom being tiny, smaller than an airplane bathroom (but what does that matter there was no power or hot water). So my boyfriend went downstairs and complained. They then let us use the apartment down the road to shower which was nice. We got back and they assured us that the power would be back on by 6pm. So we plugged in our electronics in anticipation and headed out. Upon getting back later that night there was still no electricity. The lights were working but nothing else. To fix this they used an extension cord on a huge coil and a power board. This took up a good chunk of the very little floor space. The no power meant we couldn't watch TV (you know when you're tired and just want to veg out). The next morning we showered, hooray it worked! But the pressure kept changing from a drizzle to shooting water at you. I will not be staying here again or ever suggest it to anyone. If the man at the counter was more apologetic I don't think I would have been so mad.

WORST HOTEL

Pros: NIL
Cons: ATTITUDE
Location: UNLIKE THE HOTEL A NICE AREA
Difficult to add any thing extra to the already dozens of bad reviews. But here goes: A smooth reception guy immediately demanded payment for an extra night even before we saw any rooms. He confessed they had made an error in processing our 3 night online booking – for some reason they could not explain. Using poor English he stated their staff had refunded one night back to our accounts in error – they had eftpos slips printed off their machine to “prove” it. Looked like a scam. After an hour or so we had a meeting with the “manager”, where he reluctantly agreed to allow payment for the final night on the final day. But, this all changed within one day - on the next evening, the smooth reception guy then changed from dopey and friendly to clever and smart - again demanding payment and recommended we leave if we weren’t happy. Say no more - the rooms where tiny, awful, smelly, half painted with used carpet roughly spread about the floors, windows opening to the rubbish area, minute bathroom with broken fixtures. We scampered out while we still had kneecaps the next morning with not an eyebrow lifted from reception. Refunded money did show up 7 days later with a surcharge of £3 for paying by my debit card on a DIFFERENT processing date – very sus. Stay away.
