There was excessive and visual mold observed around the PTAC unit inside my room. Because this is caused by a construction detail, this problem is likely not limited to my room alone. It is generally surrounding the sleeve in which the PTAC unit sits and is likely caused by a poor seal/insulation to the outside environment. The mold extends around the entire perimeter of the PTAC and is obstructed by the interior window trim, which is why not many people have noticed it I’m sure.
