We’ve been staying at the Abode everytime we visit the UK for over 20 years but this will be the last time. Room was dirty, black mold in shower and the overall appearance was tired and shabby looking. As for the opt-out option for no housekeeping, we requested every other day, but our room was not serviced for 3 days! We stayed in the Ormonde room and expected better.

Friendly, attentive staff throughout the hotel. Huge choice of breakfast options and excellent quality. Hotel is conveniently placed for city access. We rate this as a great choice for a stay in Chester and will return in the future.

Great location easy walking distant to city centre with many attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Only a couple of things that let it down internet terrible even when using hotel Wi-Fi , pillows way to soft and a few cleaning standards that let it down - dirty and marked curtains, black mould in shower

Room was with breakfast but one day chef did not turned up. No breakfast, no refund. Another day I was waiting 20min for coffee, it never arrived. I gave up and left the restaurant.

In a nice location close to the racecourse, river and shops all within a few minutes walk. Even though on a busy road you could hardly hear the traffic noise even though we were in the front of the hotel.

Clean and a good location. However, there were only 2 plug sockets in a large room, and the customer service wasn’t great. Upon check in, staff didn’t tell us the check-out time, where breakfast was, or how to get onto the WiFi. The staff member barely said a word to us and came across rude. There is limited phone signal in Chester, and the hotel WiFi didn’t work. Apart from that, the hotel is great, just a shame about the customer service.

We just stayed for a single night, but had no issues - friendly staff, a lovely clean room, a nice small balcony, and just a short walk from the centre of town. The only note I'd make is that the mattress in our room was very soft indeed - it suited us ok, but may be a little too soft for those who need a firmer mattress.

Very comfy bed

We checked in, went to our room, it was spacious and clean. Big floor to ceiling windows but good blackout curtains. We were at the back of hotel overlooking courtyard and never heard any noise at all. Bed was big and comfy, Tv worked, bathroom door was not right next to the bed so no disturbing each other in the night!

Great hotel.

Modern hotel with spacious and comfortable room. Pleasant staff, good location. TV was a bit dated though and some major Chanels weren't available, probably needs re-tuning which is a common problem I find in many hotels these days!
